Hello there. What equipment do you use to record and video the drum covers with your electronic drum kit? Thanks
@MikeCaputo19 күн бұрын
A Zoom Q8 camera and a cable from the master out of the module directly into the camera. That's it

Hey Mike, do you have any recommendations for decent feeling kick pads for electric kits? I have the base Yamaha kick pad and it's got literally zero rebound. Was thinking of buying foot blasters or something instead of a proper pad and using a regular kick practice pad with more rebound as an alternative. What do you think?

Are they fast feet parts doubled or singles? Getting doubles that fast is crazy! And singles. I struggle or with double strokes in the feet

I wonder, how long did it take you to learn it? I don't just mean years, but also the amount of hours of practice everyday. I'm bamboozled.
@MikeCaputoАй бұрын
If you're talking about this song by itself, it typically only takes me anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to learn a song (assuming it's within my physical ability already). If you're talking about playing like this IN GENERAL, about 20 years of lots of practice

I have GGD Invasion but I only use it to program stuff for people sometimes. I like the simplicity of this setup for making videos because I don't have to do any extra audio exporting or anything, and it also means I have to play tight and am not tempted to nudge notes around
@Dichter666Күн бұрын
@@MikeCaputo hi , may i ask if the playalong that is coming through tha aux in (?) gets recorded together with your (amazing😎) drumming?
@MikeCaputoКүн бұрын
@@Dichter666 yeah I listen to the song I'm playing to off my iPod through the aux in, so that is also sent through the master output. Everything is recorded as one single .wav file at the same time so what you hear on my e-kit videos is exactly what I'm hearing as I'm playing
@Dichter66616 сағат бұрын
@@MikeCaputo thank you for taking your time. very cool. So, if i am on the right path to comprehend this, you are even recording without a click. Or is it routed seperately? I am building my own first custom ae conversion kit and am almost ready. Edrums, especially customizing and multilayering is so exciting and satisfying.
@MikeCaputo16 сағат бұрын
@@Dichter666 No prob! Literally what you hear in my e-kit videos is what I'm hearing in my ears. No click unless there's actually a click in the video. I'm incredibly lazy and try to simplify my setup as much as possible. My acoustic videos where my kit is all mic'd up is a different story though. Typically I'll be listening to a click for those, but everything is multitracked so I can just mute the click when I export the audio
