Marty. Hope you read comments on old videos. Watching this one for the first time. Reminds me of when my husband and i hiked in Banff and Jasper areas in our 30s. Not as intense as yours but still awesome memories. That was over 30 years ago. My husband has been gone 10 years now. I am physically disabled now but still walk and swim as much as i can. Arthritis has crippled me. Thanks for the beautiful views and peacefulness your videos give me.

I reply to most of the comments on my video. I often get people reminiscing about earlier days when watching my hikes. I'm glad I bring back good memories to so many. Cheers, and thanks for watching Clyde and I. He's on vacation this week, but we'll be back as usual next week.

I wanted to add this. Marty, you’ve been an inspiration for me for many years. I’ve enjoyed your amazing videos, and you were a big inspiration to me, to film my own hiking adventures. I’ve been out of the backpacking game since 2020. Life has changed for me, and I’ve had some back and hip issues that have kept me from enjoying the thrill of backpacking for a while now. I want to change that soon, and rewatching some of your old hikes has got me wanting to just get out and endure some pain to do what I love. I want to thank you for that. If you get some spare time, I did kind of a shout out to you in one of my videos, where I tried some smoked oysters for the first time out on the trail. Don’t feel obligated to watch it by any means, but I thought I’d link it here for you. I hope you enjoy your retirement, and I always look forward to seeing your videos. God Bless. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qp-bfNuFktLUZn0.htmlsi=O7sWjlknmmvd4aIk

I strongly urge everyone to avoid this company Vevore at all cost, their after sales service is shocking and you will never see a refund. I have been trying to get a refund for the last 12 days. I get promised that I will have it that day and nothing happens , then when you contact them again, they say 1-3 days, when that time is up they say 1-3 days again and again. they are crooks and a waste of human space on this world.

Hi, I found a PCP pellet rifle in the US that I'm interested in purchasing it's over 500 FPS so it requires a p a l shooting license. The seller is concerned about having issues having it sent here and I am also concerned that I'm not informed enough. I believe there is an additional 15% tax but I have to pay once it arrives. Are there any forms I need to fill out before purchasing the gun and does the seller in the US need specific information in order to send it to Vancouver BC?

Helli logging to access and select the large growth trees that prevent the new growth, and are dying. Ensuring to leave the area with newly planted trees. The forests will manage themselves regardless with fire and or human intervention but we may not like how it affects us. I believe it can be done responsibly and clear cutting I don't believe it is a solution. Controlled burns are critical as well to ensure safety of community's. The problem is that people also get greedy and take more than they need and give nothing back. We can all do better and exist with nature responsibly and thrive. It is actually how we were meant to live and I believe the current society is to far removed from nature. If they would just get out of thtere cubicles or offices and cities. They would know how connected we are to this planet. You got to experience it to understand

Hey Marty, I’m planning on solo hiking the southesk this summer. The stretch where the trail disappears looks pretty daunting though. Any tips? Do you think I would be okay using the AllTrails gps as a guide?
@Martyupnorth
@Martyupnorth Ай бұрын
Bring your GPS, but make sure you still have route-finding skills. The resolution on a typical GPS is 5-10 m, but the trail is totally overgrown by willow in many sections, and difficult to find. Just need persistence, and common sense. .

I was just wondering if you are prone to getting blisters on your hikes. I have always been told that wearing two layers of socks will increase heat and friction, thus leading to blisters. I was curious what your experience has been.
@Martyupnorth
@Martyupnorth Ай бұрын
I always wear two pairs of socks, and I never have blisters. The key is simply finding boots or shoes that fit properly. I tried a lot of boots of ver the years, and settled on Scarpas. I wear mine a bit tight, which prevents any slipping. Key area for fit is the heel. I also change my lacing throughout the day. Tight going uphill, loose on flat land.
