Actually leaned towards John Deere because what a work horse my S 170 is. As I click over 75 years of age was looking for something to cut our 3 1/2+ acres a bit faster and more comfortable. Having years ago driven a skid steer (Bobcat) was leaning in that direction. Found your videos to be the most informative for a lay person and you actually responded to viewer questions in text or WOW follow up video! Impressive indeed. Ended up with The John Deere Z325E 54 inch zero turn ZTRAK. Mine came from Lowes and possibly a local thing but had BREAK IN OIL that needed to be changed at 3 hours. Using crossover hand to choke while right hand started when cold was something new. Filled with fuel and noted there is no actual fuel gauge, strictly sight panel which I found odd. Even having some skid steer experience and certain basics being common with zero turn, slight learning curve in controls. I had actually used my S170 to do borders and around fence so I could have a larger area to get use to finer controls after using the larger area of the yard for initial confidence building. For first time zero turn users DO NOT START YOUR LEARNING CURVE ON EDGES/FENCES/etc., as you would probably get frustrated and blame the machine versus learning the skill set. Took under 2 hours to mow the 3 1/2+ acres and by the third outing control was smooth as I had fine tuned my skills. More comfortable than my S170 and way more agile and responsive. Your videos were and are appreciated, even more is your responses to inquiry. Now as for gardens, my 97 year old Mother always mixes her soil with coffee grounds whether it be trees, veggies or flowers, still has the best garden even at Assisted Living where they have flower/veggie beds.

Thanks again. Bought the 54" and totally agree with your reviews on excellence. 3 1/2 acres in half the time my 48' riding JD would do. The only thing I wonder is why on earth they didn't use a multi purpose hour/fuel gauge or have a separate fuel gauge. I guess if that is my only annoyance is no fuel gauge at all, it still sings the praises of the performance.

Anyone else notice the belt with full tension will rub itself to death after 5-7 hours of use

You could easily get some pool noodles from the dollar store (especially since it's Summer), slice one side of them, and put them over those edges to give a bit of protection from slicing yourself or damaging any plants that decide to drape across the edge. That's a solid find.

Blueberries need acidic soil, it's worth checking. I live in Western Australia where it is hot hot in summer. I have found my blueberries need shade cloth over them otherwise the leaves are just burnt to a crisp.

Check the soil pH with a meter . Amazon. .home depot or Lowes should have this meter . Blueberries will thrive with constant ACIDIC pH of 3.5 - 5.0--most ideal range. Even 5.5 to 6.5 is duable. But if it's 7 or above the roots will not be able to absorb the nutrients from a neutral and or alkaline pH soil !

Would like to see it in operation actually being maneuvered forward, sideways, reverse. Some John Deere riding models stop blade operation when reversing. Will be my first zero turn. A walkthrough on each of the controls would be nice, from after ignition. Thank you
