20:15 Amazing how different the colors of their feathers are: The one who I think is a boy has light gray back/shoulders, and the girl a dark gray.
@CooCooNews18 күн бұрын
I also think they are a boy and a girl. The boys have more pronounced colors, possibly to attract females in the future
@cr8brady25718 күн бұрын
@@CooCooNews Interesting theory but I can't confirm it for the flock of 30 here at my place. But males are mostly slightly bigger while females have a slightly more flat-shaped head. Also since there isn't any practical use of fancy colors irl, and pigeons are very practically orientated, the females rather make sure the potential partner can give crop milk on command. That's exactly what they all have to prove in their pre-mating ritual, no joke. That makes me think they don't care about colors, also since their native colors are gray, white and black. All other colors are human breeding-forced rare mutations of thousands of years. That's also why black or white pigeons exist, but it doesn't make it more difficult for them to find a partner as my shorts prove well 😂

@@CooCooNews For that you have to frequently sit down next to them in visible range for an hour or 30 minutes, so they can study you. Their trust just works like that, they're watching every little detail and change. But in this nest-on-the-ground case it would mean you would have to lay down to get to their visual comfy range because they hate it when they don't have higher ground when something is new. You could lay on your back or side with a small pillow, reading or watching videos on your phone. As long as your movements are about the quarter speed as normal, they won't get really scared but they will get curious 🙂

6:08:00 I counted five times so far that dad had to make clear towards his teen that nest visit time is over for now, zero tolerance level. Short but intense clearing situations, dad made everything right there. It's too dangerous for the babies to get hurt
@CooCooNewsАй бұрын
Yes, I’ve seen this situation. As I mentioned earlier, before the chicks hatched, they used to accept him and let him eat. But after the chicks appeared, they shifted their attention to them. I’ve tried setting up a separate feeder for him, but they don’t let him eat there either. They chase him away as soon as he arrives. I have no idea how to resolve this situation😒🙄😐

8:24:01 Dad gets confused by a budgie's voice in the neighborhood. 😂 The sound he makes shortly after is the sound they're making when something scares or kind of overwhelms them. You can clearly see in his face he has no clue what the budgie is talking about. Then he is calming himself down and the head gesture is understandable for all humans: Nah, let's forget about this and relax. 🥰

Now, after the chicks have hatched, they have become very sensitive to external noises and are very skittish😱😰

8:10:20 Instead of just dropping the eggshell out of the nest, mom is taking it far away to remove significant breeding traces from the scene for safety purpose
@CooCooNewsАй бұрын
It also seemed to me that after the chicks hatch, the pigeons eat the remaining nutrients from the eggs. I might be wrong, but it really looks like that. Or maybe they’re just checking if there’s anyone inside🤨
