I’m going to use the lining and cover the seams then there will be no raw edges showing up on the inside of the bag. I saw Tiffany Geoff finish her seams on the little zipper bags she makes and you have more of a professional job done ❤
@mywithallmyart12 күн бұрын
Sounds great! Go for it.
@judylee255613 күн бұрын
You show that you zigzag the bottom seam together then when you sew the flat bottom seam your seam is open, explain that. There’s no way you can do that
@mywithallmyart12 күн бұрын
At 19:27, if you look closely, you will see me open just the side seams but the bottom, zigzagged seam is away from the camera. You can barely see me move it. It is moved to one side. It cannot be opened.

Old time bag maker here :). Really enjoyed your video and the bag is very cute. I want to know how you made that lovely little pincushion. I've never made one and that one looks like a wonderful way to use small leftover project fabrics! Is it filled with batting, walnut shells? Video idea? Anyway - thank you for the helpful video . .a couple years later :)
@mywithallmyart20 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, even now!!! I did not make that pincushion, but isn't it cute! I probably could. It seems that i remember a similar pattern for back in the day!!! LOL!!! A friend got that for me. Maybe I should try it. Thanks for stopping by!

If you would buy 4 placemats, could you then use the 4th one to make your pockets? That wouldn’t make the bag bigger.

A couple of questions please, Which brand of scissors that you used? They sound like good fabric cutting scissors. What's the difference between regular sewing and surging of fabrics? God bless you🌷
@mywithallmyartАй бұрын
They are Gingher. And yes they are very, very good. I have had them since the 80s. Regular sewing is just a single straight stitch. Surging is the 3vor 4 thread stitch that you see on the inside if clothing that comes from a garment factory. A serger has a blade and one and sometimes two needle. It sews, cuts excess, and finishes at the same time.

Couldn’t you use one of your ‘pages’ to put onto jeans? I think it would make application on the jeans easier if you do all the patches together first then put it onto the jeans, purse, etc. Thoughts? Love your videos! Thank you.
