I recall this game so well. Drove from Atlanta to Pittsburg. Atlanta was so pumped. So great to follow the Braves on the road. Couldn't get tickets in Atlanta. Memories of a lifetime.

Definitely a blast from the past and distinctly recall watching this series at age 12. Legendary announcers and no one calling games today even comes close. No 24/7 espn no internet and it was a completely different vibe from today.

By far the best baseball broadcast team I’ve ever heard. The athletes today are much better, but the game back then was much much much better too!

I was 14 and a huge Braves in 1991. I can’t tell you how jacked these intros gave me before each game of the 91 NLCS.

I'm, unfortunately, a Pirates fan and the only reason your braves won is simply that they wanted it more, got shut out three games in a row at home. I also remember the Cabrara base it the next year.

@@markross2124 no doubt. I had so much respect for the Pirates because of their history, they had been there the year before, and had so many big name players on that team. I was just happy the Braves had won the division after so many horrible years. As for 92, it took a lot of crazy things to happen for the Braves to get lucky in game 7. Gary Redus was from the same part of Alabama as me so it was bittersweet when he booted that ball at second in the 9th. I think he only had 6 errors all year and then had 2 in that game.

I remember it well. I was in 10th grade; the Pirates needed to split in Baltimore or face going back home at 0-2. That was indeed a tense game. What made it worse, was I lived in Cleveland, where the Browns fans had an irrational hatred of not just the Steelers, but anything Pittsburgh, so all my friends were pulling against the Pirates just because they hated the Steelers!

The city of Pittsburg was spoiled at this time. The Steelers were champs four times in six years, and these Pirates won this WS after winning the last three games in a row. A lot o’ trophies….

This was the last game with the Pirates home white pinstripes. They wore all yellow in game 4 and black shirt, yellow pants in game 5. In 1980 they ditched the pinstripes and went with a plain white uniform that the team wore at home through 1990. The mix and match uniforms stuck around through 1984, which were their road uniforms. In 1985 they got a road grey jersey.

What a god awful field and ballpark. Disgraceful that this was a major league ballpark and professionals actually had to play a World Series in this. The pecos league had better fields probably
