Next time, before you have to go inside to try to help your goat give labor, you might want to go watch Crystal's goat birth videos over at Blue Cactus Dairy Goats on KZfaq. She has excellent advice and she says going in to help a goat should be a last resort type of thing, because if the goat isn't fully dialated you can really hurt them. I'm sure it was a last resort case here, but it wasn't clear during the video, which may be unclear to other viewers and lead to unclear instructions given to another breeder. You may already know this, but only after more than 12 hours has passed after they lose their ligaments and are showing no progression, should you go in. Going in too early can result in damage to the goat, infection and a host of other issues, not to mention damage to the kid if the umbilical is broken while still inside the goat. If it's over 30 minutes of hard contractions and pushing without any progression, then it's ok to check inside, which I'm sure it was in this case, since she was getting tired. I'm only passing along the info I've learned from Crystal, who has birthed 250 some odd kids and follows breeding recommendations outlined by the Arizona breeders association. Good luck to you! I wish you success with your channel and if I come across as being critical, it's because the lives of your animals are at stake.

If you want to grow as much as your climate allows of your current diet then no. If you are willing to adapt your diet to what you can grow and raise you can get there. Yes, provided you have enough space. So research not only cooking methods and recipes but also different diets and how to apply them. Likely with some land you can raise enough meat to live on a carnivore diet for quite some time for instance. Knowledge is key, both of what is possible and what you want to do and do without. Or not do without like chocolate (or other essential "food groups"). But yes knowing how to adapt and what is essential.
@CluckinNutsHomestead8 ай бұрын
True. You have to adapt to every situation in a homesteading lifestyle.
