3 weeks ago did a test application of Fahrenhiet and it smoked spurge. Did a combo of that with Empero and a tablespoon of 2-4-d per gallon spot spraying. Its taking down chamberbitter, spurge and nutsedge with no damage to grass. i got majority centipede with st augustine and some bermuda. so far so good. How did the isoxaben granular do for you? im considering getting it in WG form for pre-emergent.

The big keys are mowing consistently, staying away from root pruning pre emergents like Dimension and Barricade and keeping the bare spots lightly watered. Also carbon applications or peat moss really help

Saw a video where some wanted to make their lawn greener, they said, and they used a product called Fish SEAWEED Fertilizer. Is there any benefit to using a product like that to our lawns? I ask because back in my early fire career we had a protein foam used for firefighting. It had a fish by product in it. Guys would take that home and put it down and they had the greenest yards, hell it would grow grass on bricks. Thanks again for everything as your information and advice had brought my lawn a long way back to looking good again.
@CentipedeCentralLawnCare10 күн бұрын
Absolutely, seaweed has many benefits to any plant including grass. Contains growth hormones which cause the grass to grow like crazy. There are many liquid seaweed products on Amazon and the Lowe’s fertilizer I recommend has some Sea Kelp meal in it. Great for root growth too
@seanarnold951312 күн бұрын
Is it safe to use the Fertilome product today? I ask because we have had about 10+ inches of rain in the last 16 days. Mowing every 5 days because vrhe growth has really taken off. The Perslane or Spurge blossomed big time so I want to make sure it's okay to spray know. Used it in the fall and this spring and it knocked it out pretty good.

Yes it’s safe to use now. It’s rain safe after 3-4 hours so just make sure when you apply it doesn’t rain for a few hours (hourly forecast)

Im in Central Florida, I use Celsius. Works well. I do take exception with Atrazine. I had a lawn service treating my lawn and just about killed it. I cancelled them, They claimed all the used for weed control was Atrazine. I even had them do a test patch and it killed the grass within a week. Its taken 2 years for it to come back. So, carefull with the atrazine.
@CentipedeCentralLawnCare18 күн бұрын
Wow I’m surprised it killed it. I wonder if they sprayed atrazine more than a couple times throughout season?
@prichter979818 күн бұрын
@@CentipedeCentralLawnCare That's exactly how they control weeds here. They spray almost every 30 days in the summer. And 95% of the lawns here are St. Augustine, which tolerates Atrazine well. I use Celsius every 30 or so days at medium to light dose as spot treatment. I'm trying to get my neighbors St. Augustine to take over my lawn. Previous owners had Centipede installed. It is the wrong grass for central florida.

Are all four needed to maximize weed control? How long do you wait before applying a different application?
@CentipedeCentralLawnCare18 күн бұрын
I try to limit the amount of chemicals I put down throughout the year. So probably not use all 4 in one year but if spot spraying it’s generally fine. It’s good to have these in the arsenal for different needs. For example it’s good to have Celsius for chamberbitter and Change Up is great for general broadleaf weed control. I will probably stop using atrazine now that I am using Isoxaben (Gallery) which I’m very impressed with as a pre-emergent. If you haven’t seen my video on it check it out

You can spray now and see what it does for you but ideally either before green up (before lawn comes out of dormancy in spring) or a couple of weeks after green up. Or you could do an early fall application to help prevent some fall weeds. It’s really your choice

So far I have been only watering the grass as you had recommended about 1-2" per week. Did my soil testing and found out that my soil is low on Phosphorus, Potassium, magnesium & Calcium, PH is good. Planning to do following, let me know if I am in right direction 1. Put Sta - Green 16-0-10 as per your instructions in two phases and also use Sta-Green lawn Multi nutrients to improve the soil health. 2. I havent mowed my grass yet, there are some brown patches and some weeds around, but not so bad. The grass is still very much green but uneven. 3. When should I use the Preemergent and weed killer? Any particular product you would recommend? What should I start with now and how should I go about in coming months. Thanks!
