Certainly can look that way... it was hot is my best excuse. Some of us have over 500 games in DuPR (which isn't perfect) they think we are 4.5

Ratings are a bit arbitrary. I have almost 1,000 games in DUPR, so at least they have data.

Thanks, Brian. I was actually trying to comment to my friend and partner regarding how to rate ourselves for an upcoming tournament.

Information you probably already know... DUPR is free and you can enter games in there anytime. If you play tournaments they count more for your rating, but even casual games with friends count. The more you play, the more you play other people, the more accurate your rating will be. We use the app "Swish" for round robins, it automatically sets up the games and at the end you can have the scores automatically sent into DUPR. Good luck playing! "Playing Up" is smart - you want to get better.

@@ebrianridge This helps, Brian. Thanks, again - will look into it! Been playing unrated for almost 4 years now. Some of those I've played with and against have ratings so that helps give an idea of where things are at. As well, I'm familiar with the description of level proficiencies.

I just started playing a couple of weeks ago and am at least at this level, I do have a tennis background (but I wouldn't say my skills translate too well because I am a baseliner), but either pickleball is extremely easy, or this is not 4.5 if the ratings are at all similar to tennis.

I will lose in most 4.5+ matches. But I would have no problem beating any of these players in any combination of partner rotations. This is not 4.5 sorry to break it to you. Seems like everyone wants to take their rating and just bump it up to the next number up. It would be nice to see people just accurately rate themselves.
