I think the A7Cii is a more sensible choice... 33 MP is a lot of dots to work with, I think 60MP will be over kill for most, it is for me. If you need that much resolution, a Fuji GFX camera might be a better option IMO.

Or instead get a used Tamron 17-28mm 2.8 for 500$ or less like i did. Or other used lens with much better glass

Three years ago I bought a used xt3 for 400 eur. I could sell it for at least 600 at the moment. It's crazy 🤪

yongnuo 50mm f1.8 is another great piece for aps-c sony cameras, under 100usd and is definately worth it

I'm getting the 16mm Viltrox f/1.8 FF lens and the 24mm and 50mm Sigma Art DG DN lenses to use with my f/2.8 zoom lenses. If you use those with APS-C and FF camera then you get 16, 24, 36, 50, and 75mm prime lenses, and you get the rest of your shots with the f/2.8 zoom lens, and possibly that Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 zoom lens.

I wonder how does this compare to a modern high-end smartphone camera

I have a lumix s5ii, but was looking for a photography centric b-cam that would support L-mount and not cost me a leg cuz I'm still a student. I fell into the leica loop with the M series and gave up hope but then I saw the pricing for used Leica SL's. Would you recommend it, or should I just get a fuji x100t or f. I'm looking for a street photography cam honestly. First was looking for a rangefinder but the leica m's are way too expensive so I landed here.

The irony is palpable

The motion detection function would be actually pretty amazing for something like filming birds or other animals. I used to have a gorgeous birb coming to a bird feeder I made two winters ago. I really wanted to take a photo of it, but it was quite easily spooked and it flew away every time it noticed any motion. It looks like this cheap camera would be quite handy if I had it back then.
