We used to have a turkey that laid an egg about every 3 days. I imagine its not very profitable to raise turkeys for eggs. They eat 3 to 4X as much as chickens and lay alot less.

For some reason this video show up for me to watch, even though I never ate a turkey egg in my life. I did some Googling in my part of the world (Los Angeles). You can find them, but they aren't at Ralph's, and they're expensive. I'll stick with what eggs come with an Egg McMuffin.
I had them many years ago . The stock I got was very weak . I got them from mcmurrey and they would die one day for what seemed no reason .

I never really thought about it, turkey meat doesn't taste good so I never thought about their egg. Turkey is good for making dog/cat feed, not for feeding me.

I have never tried Turkey eggs, but would if I could! Goose eggs, on the other hand, I have eaten many! Instead of two or three eggs and bacon, I only needed ONE!! LOL! They are HUGE!! And tasty! We had a pair of turkeys, but the female got killed by a dog (one that I "took care of" after...) so now we only have the male walking around "goubble goubble" all day long! 😂😂

I tried them, they are hard to crack and cook longer then chicken eggs but tasty.

I'd fill my yard with chicks and turkeys and geese and ducks for the town to see and hear. If I were a wealthy man.

It’s because turkeys are a lot meaner than chickens.

I have 10 sq ft, they get lot's of calcium. I tried filling eggs with mustard and hot sauce. I found the culprit....but I think she likes mustard and hot sauce as she ate all 4 that we put in there.

I knew everything in this from common sense, and am glad it's here for some people, but given the stuff I watch overall it's very strange to have been recommended. Still, good on you for being a special type of nerd and sharing information.

Excellent videos and I have enjoyed everyone's comments. We buy organic feed and supplement with black sunflower seeds which seem to help with egg production. Also it is hot in Florida so we also throw frozen wild blueberries as a treat. Meal worms are scattered through the property as a treat so they have to look for them. We go to Walmart and get very specific worms that aren't colored or fed chemicals. But because they love "wormies" and will come running if I give a yell… One time I had leftover plain cooked spaghetti and they actually sucked it down like kids do...I did not know that chickens can suck up spaghetti ha ha We get lots of eggs, their combs are bright red and they have wacky doodle personalities❣️

These are the same people that sit in their running cars at a McDonald's drive thru and pay 12.00 for a "Crap Mac"...it's all about me,me,me,and now, now, now, while I bow to my cell phone and answer my text messages then blow thru a red light at a intersection to go to Walmart.....Because turkey shells are thicker 😂😂😂😂

why dont we drink hot woman female milk and instead drink cow milk? that is regardless if the cow is "hot" or not to other cows.

When I was a kid, my father always bought a fresh turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas directly from the farm. He would pick a live turkey and the farmer would decapitate it and hang it to drain the blood for an hour before it was brought home. The turkey would then be plucked and cleaned at home. During that process, several eggs were often discovered within. Dad always saved the eggs and enjoyed them for breakfast the next morning. The rest of the family never indulged in the eggs. They were Dad's treat for the hard work of plucking, cleaning and cooking the turkey. We never said grace at the table without giving a special "thank you" to the turkey.
I’ve ate them a lot. They are just a little richer than chicken eggs but still very delicious. And the before commenter is correct the membranes are thicker.
