Nice review mate, good to see a balanced view from a BM guy. Just a note on the interior noise, the engine sound in the cabin is adjustable through the soundaktor in the OBD. It takes the sound directly off the back of the engine bay through a speaker in the front bulkhead. It’s not a fake sound.

tts is a much more nimble and 0-60 compared to 140i + interior quality is leaps over bnw 140i is more fun due to rear wheel drive but hot laps the tt wins all day everyday ....the sound is straight from engine and exhaust 100% from tts models !❤😂

Those black alloys aren't factory mate. Stock M140i's come with Gun Metal Grey coloured 18" alloys

If you fit the M3/M4 front arms, your ride height will be lowered by another few mm. My 135i dropped by about 10mm when I fitted M3 LCAs. Did you stay with the standard bump stops?

M140i guys in the comments. “My M140 is quicker than an M2c” Yeah but it’s still a tribute act to a real M car 😂.

Just wanted to say kudos on the car bud - an F21 M140i with sunroof is rarer than hen's teeth. I'm sure you knew that! Took my F21 to PerformanceM in December for a major service after picking her up 2 days prior. Had the diff inserts done because, as you say, they're a very cost-effective mod to do, but can't really comment on the before/after. Taking her back again in March for the B8s (and the Adaptive Dampers removing/decoding), as well as the M3/M4 lower control arms w/fast geo string alignment. I will let you know how the car feels in case it's still helpful. Also to note is that mine's currently sat on H&R lowering springs and Bimecc 12 mm wheel spacers at the front, supposedly this will lead to rubbing with the LCAs fitted. Going to try and get away with the 10 mm Bimecc spacers, again I can feed that back if useful. Cheers!

I would love one of these but right now my budget wont go that far. As for all 1 series i think they should only be 3 door i have a 2009 116i 3 door with the m sport body extras. it looks great but they are too small for 5 doors i just dont think they look right at all. My only gripe is the frameless windows sticking to the rubber seal in freezing conditions. Anybody know a cure for that ?.

I've got the same spacers 25mm drop all round on standard shocks. My front is too low when I go over speed bumps and those flipping spikes/plates that only let you drive in one way. Stick with what you have on the front because you'll be avoiding speed bumps more than you may already do so.

Did you notice you could feel more of the road surface through the steering wheel on rougher roads? Good video pal

With your insert did they put on the top and bottom cos IAM just order some powerflex inserts hoping it makes a difference if not then LSD and that money

I’ve got an adaptive car and whilst it’s good in comfort, it has the same problem in sport plus, dampers too soft for UK roads. Got rear B8s for £200 from AUTODOC just need to get the fronts. Got the M performance lsd & god it makes such a huge difference especially when being stage 2+ im also jealous of your colour. I wanted mineral grey but couldn’t find the spec (wanted sunroof, electric seats and rear cam) but could only find all that in estoril blue😢

What paddles are you running? M2?

I wonder if B8s & stock springs would make the ride any comfier than stock, with a passive setup? Mine rides awfully compared to my previous adaptive car.

An idea for the Christmas special that you definitely mentioned is to release that overtake on the red polo in the "Why Did I Buy Another BMW M140i? *POV DRIVE*" video (or any blooper/unseen moments)

+1 for the mud guards. I have the carbon versions and love them. A little bit steep at £90 for what they are, but they look the mut’s nuts. Also running spacers (12 f and 15r ).

I can strongly recommend doing the shocks at performanceM while you’re doing the springs and spacers….. makes a huge difference. The first time you hit a long high speed bend you’ll know you’ve done the right thing!

I did dubble res delete on my 340i and i sounded amazing for a week with pops and cracks sound but now its gone quiter as if it still stuck any reason ?

Obviously didn't take time to find out centre rest rises. Your M140i has a larger engine. Maybe you should've test drive th TTRs🤔

Mine is a 2017, and the clip which connects the actuator to the exhaust valve broke, a common fault, so I bought a new clip. Then I thought hmmm I like the sound now it's broken, so I just put a piece of wire around the protruding connecter where the clip fits the valve and now it's open all the time. Coupled with a downpipe it sounds perfect, a bit louder, nice burbles constantly, but not silly loud. And it cost me about £2 for the wire from Wickes ! The downpipe is a Wagner, which was quite expensive, it's a 200cell and passed the MOT the first time, struggled a bit but passed the 2nd time, and erm..... yeah I need a friendly tester now ! It's worth it though, 455bhp/634nm is fun, and I turn traction off soon as I get in every journey. I had the stop/start coded out, the cold start deleted, and the speed limiter removed.

As an owner of an M140i for the past 4 years, the M2C is the ultimate M car for the UK roads. I had plans on spending £20k upgrading my car, and it would turn it into an M2C, M3, M4 killer. But it would still be an M140i. I stuck with a downpipe, remap, and xHP3 software for the ZF8, and for a total spend of £23k I think I made the right choice. My car is faster on a roll race than a standard M2C, RS3, A45s, and many other 'fast' cars, and I'm still only 23 grand into it, and it's been running 455bhp/634nm reliably for the past 4 years no probs. The ZF8 as standard is a lot smoother than the DCT but a bit dim-witted until you map it with xHP3, but after you do that, the ZF8 is a better gearbox in every situation. Smooth when cruising but just as fast, just as direct, and if anything better than the DCT imo, and being in the motor trade I have driven a number of different cars for comparison.

I want the new rs3 8y but not at the current price so just purchased an m2c for the money there’s nothing better

Weird to listen to ya. I also bought my car when I was 24. M135i F21 2012 reg. In manual but with the same colour. First car too, since I couldn't afford to even do my test until I finished uni. It's a magical car.

Had my M2C DCT for around 6 months and it's been my daily, absolutely brilliant car. The M140i is good but the M2C wins hands down 😁

You need bimmercode app can code out the cold start, can permanently open the exhaust valves and loads more 👍 then downpipes and stage 2 thats what i am and its awesome!

nice video mate! just got a remus exhaust on mine and its a crazy difference! £200 is very good! mine is a ppf model so had to get it mapped out which was a pain!!
