If I remember right, I remember a younger me and my family attending this event in an attempt to ride the Oregon Pacific train ride, but sadly that never happened and I was borderline miserable about it, but my mom had us ride the Max train to Expo center to help cheer me up a bit, and it did. I WAS able to see 4449 (I didn’t know too much of back then). I sadly couldn’t find any photos of that anywhere, but me and my brother stood next to the locomotive and my mom and dad took a pic of us. I can safely say this event was definitely memorable

Nice Catches! Btw, I will need a little help as I am new to the Area, Ill be taking Amtrak 14 from the Bay and heading up to Eugene OR this thursday! I was promised a whole day of railfanning from 12:37 - 6pm. Do you know any freight trains that I can catch that day?. Ill also be going to Portland on the next day ( Saturday ) for the Portland rail museum. I was also promised a bit a of railfanning, all I just need is the List of freight trains and there common time to pop around. Thanks!

I wish finding the trains were more methodical but it's mainly listening to the radio and sitting and waiting. Amtraks have their posted schedules and freights will take the sidings for passes so usually not too long after an Amtrak, a freight will pass. In the valley traffic has been higher lately but again traffic can be pretty random.

I love the way that passenger and freight coexist within a few feet of each other. Also interesting consist with the MP15 thrown in. I'll have to make some time to head downtown and hang out around the station. I'll make sure I'm current on my tetanus vaccine 😂 Thank you so much for all the quality video you shoot!

@thadmacmillan All of Portland's waste is exported to landfills near Arlington and near McMinnville. There are no landfills in the Portland Metro area operating.
