Guys bit of a weird question. I have had a gantry style laser for over 2 years (never even used it) with a atom stack R30 V2 head on it. When i use the test buttom at least something happens but its supposed to be full power. And on metal and anodized material it does absolutely nothing. On wood it make a little black mark. Any ideas? You guys are a bunch of clowns and I love it😂

Why does everyone just reduce the power instead of increasing the speed with the added power? I have jobs in deep aluminum I would love to go faster if this is an option.

Hi! Thank you for your content so much! I learned a lot of things! Out of theme question, but i’m desperate, may be someone can help me: I’m engraving a photo on 70x80mm 0.5mm stainless steel piece, the laser program takes around 10 mins to complete. In the process, stainless steel gets bend by heat in an arc shape. Did someone come across this issue before me? If so, what could be done in your opinion? Thank you heartwarmingly!

Is it possible to make a spoilboard squared to the laser by the leser? Similar to a CNC machine? Chat-gpt says no, I say it is possible beyond the focus grey area. Testing my theaory now. Let ya'll know what comes of it.....

In the ezcad tumbler video, you defocused 5.5mm. Is that not needed anymore?

for some reason whenever I finish setting up and making my account, it stops at some point or another, sometimes after opening Microsoft edge, sometimes immediately after setting up, it will restart and we're back at the beginning. Edit: I figured it out, I was continuing to press buttons after restarting look a goof

Thank you! UTM's own instructions got me nowhere, but this way worked on the first try on my M3 Pro MBP. Slooooow, but it works. (I think the things that made the difference were in the few VM settings you tweaked, and the use of the ISO downloaded from Microsoft rather than the one downloaded with CrystalFetch.) Thank you!!

This was on a 30w so you'll have to drop the power or raise the speed! We have links on the description for starter settings packs for you. Also watch our video "everything you need to know about galvo lasers" if you're new!

I contacted Cliudray customer service (very responsive) about this machine's compatibility with Mac. They assured me that Lightburn was compatible with Mac so this machine would be compatible, but I looked through all the documentation and files I could find and there was no configuration file or USB driver (was a HUGE hassle on my first laser from XTool connecting to Mac). Any Mac users have experience with this machine? These cannot be returned, only exchanged for credit minus restocking and handling fees. I appreciate any help.

At 5:56 you mention a video link for leveling the lens to the bed. Can you link that please? I must have a terrible combo of blind/dumb and clueless, as I don't see the link. If its this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fMCEbN2A1Z-3nGw.html than my lens calibration is the problem this vid should help me with. Lasers for knife engraving accurately is akin to hurting kittens and pushing string.

Does 'apply mask to image' and 'flatten image mask' work with multiple cookie cutter shapes at once? What if the cookie cutters overlap? If not, is there a better way to get a pattern onto multiple (similar) overlapping shapes?
@LaserEverything8 күн бұрын
It kind of depends how you structure and do it, but if you group your shapes you are using as your mask (just like the vector style we did for the knife with multiple holes we sliced out), whether they are internal to each other or next to each other, you can still mask the same image. If the shapes aren't grouped, lightburn will not provide the option to apply the mask to the image if multiple vector outlines are highlighted and not grouped. That said, it sounds like you just want duplicates of the same thing maybe? If so, you can just do one and duplicate it after you get it masked, and then align the duplicates to the rest of your areas it's needed. Hope that helps!

What about using the print and cut feature in Lightburn? If you pick the centre of two screw as the alignment points it should scale it to fit perfectly.
@LaserEverything8 күн бұрын
Print and cut isn't really available on galvo like it is on gantry. Even with that, the same implementation I'm not sure would be as accurate as having a whole outlined shape to refer to, due to the physical size of the red dot. We have the outlining function with the red dot that basically serves that purpose, but we can live outline and see it unlike on a gantry where we have a head that would be flinging around.

Is there anyway to slow down the outline red trace laser to were its super slow showing the outlinetrace at all? would help me a ton I'm losing vision in an eye and its hard to keep up with it at its current setting. Thanks.
@LaserEverything8 күн бұрын
Absolutely! You can slow it down in lightburn with the red light speed controls in device settings from the top menu, and should be in the pop up window of options. In ezcad it’s in the f3 params
