I miss nr2003, played it for 9 years, starting in 2003, after 9 month playing SS tracks and getting a 10, a guy said that means nothing, come out to the other tracks, so I did, took a bit of time learning the tracks/setups, was a blast. It all got better when I studied replay analyzer and figured out what the sim wants to see, really helped my setups and driving style. First 4 years I averaged 27 races a week. So much depth to that sim, tire management, fuel management, OD/UD, pit strat and tape to name a few. I think you had a lot of good points that I used, but we took it to another level on many different topics. IMO your method of tire temp is not how I set up my cars and I was ranked 2nd highest when papy servers were around.

Nice presentation! I started playing the Papyrus games back in the 90’s and always felt like I was shooting in the dark with my setup adjustments. I like your suggestion about keeping the F4 key on.

Thank you so much for sharing this info with everyone. Using what I learned from this video I just made a new setup for atlanta that is half a second faster than my old one with far less tire wear. GREAT STUFF!!

I've read how to set up a car few times for years, this was the best explanation of whats going on. I never knew tire temps were so important. Do you ever touch compression and rebound dampers?
@christianbennett6970
@christianbennett6970 2 жыл бұрын
on occasion, they do make a difference especially on the right rear and left front, but the overall amount of difference/impact they will make is dependent on how youve got the weight bias setup. if theres more weight on the rears, the compression and rebound will make more of a difference on the fronts because when the front gets light off the corner the rebound will help keep the front tires down and biting, and on entry when the nose is pushing into the track they help distribute the load across the left front and right front, which is important when the wight bias is set further back. tracks like Vegas and Charlotte that are bumpy on entry, having the weight in the back will make the nose bounce and give you fits so adjusting those will definitely help. They cant be used as a bandaid but theyre great for fixing the little problems.

This is amazing stuff!!! I've been playing nr2003 since it's conception and this just adds purposeful meaning to my practice sessions! I'd love to see footage in replay mode so I can see your throttle and brake application for when the car is off balance

Wow, so glad you enjoyed the video, sorry its kinda long, but yea, ill start working on a second video that has the ingame footage, with the replay throttle bar overlayed on top. for a long time i drove with a keyboard, so instead of driving off of the steering wheel, I learned to build setups that wouldnt need much wheel put in, but could be driven with the throttle, and its got me to a point where I can build some really long run setups that the tires just seem to last forever in some cases.

Hehe I still feel more comfrotable on keyboard infact, and this video had me keyboard driving in it cause i'm better at talking and driving with that. I set the input momentum on the throttle and brake at like 20 percent, so that i have the most connection with them, and then the steering is set quite high to really smooth it out but even at that i don't ream on the steering that much anyway.
