the "kitchen" and the weight of the ball make this so boring to watch. It's fun to play for a little bit but the skill ceiling is so low. Potentially the reason why it became so popular.

I think most people down three points are going to see that ball out. So close the call could go either way. But I think the out call is fair for how close it is.

Hello! Would each those “lid loops” (where you rolled up clothing) fit a 3-pack tube of pickleballs? It doesn’t seem wide enough to be able to close the lid with ball tubes in those loops , but hard to tell for sure without having it in person.
@LandonWilson88Ай бұрын
I've never tried to, I don't believe it would work well. In the divider for the main compartment, it has elastic straps that I believe would easily fit those tubes you're referring to. At least one tube, you could probably force another tube in the other 2. I don't use any of those loops day to day.

To provide a candid assessment based on my observation of the match: - The performance at best was a 3.7 match - There are numerous errors. - There's a frequent occurrence hitting out balls - Many pop-ups are evident. - I'm unable to discern any strategic approach to the game. Around the 6:36 timestamp, the issue with his backhand drive can be traced back to his body posture, notably hitting off his back foot and the positioning of his paddle, along with his head being raised. The guy who is the pro watching, should have pointed that out as he was doing that a lot in this match. This reflects my genuine opinion after watching 10mins of the match. At a rating of 4.5, such issues should be significantly less common. It's my observation that players often claim to be half a point higher than their actual skill level.

Thanks for watching, glad you thought it was a good game. Truth of the matter is, the tournament bracket this match was in was listed as 4.0. I'll tell you like another commenter on this video. There's another event on March 9th. Your comment makes it sound like you think of yourself as a 4.0. Come on over to Owensboro, KY show off that skill, 4.0, 6.0, whichever. Prove it. I and many others in my area would gladly welcome it.

4.0 in different regions are real. It’s ok to call this 4.0 in KY and 3.5+ in San Diego.

@LandonWilson884 ай бұрын
Of the outdoor balls we have tried. We've tried most popular ones (onyx durafast 40, x40, core, selkirk pro s1, the new ppa Vulcan). The pro s1 wins by a mile for indoor play. It still slides a bit but not near as bad as the others.
@800over4 ай бұрын
We play with the Onix FUSE indoor ball. It is made for those floors and plays faster than most indoor balls. it won't skip like the outdoor balls.@@LandonWilson88

@echochapman76574 ай бұрын
Do you play differently when playing on gym floors using an inside ball? I just played on a gym floor at a rec center for the first time, and the game seems a bit different, and wondering if that leads to a different strategic approach.
@LandonWilson884 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! To answer your question i have to focus more on hand eye coordination off the bounce with an indoor ball. an indoor ball is better on a gym/concrete floor its still a different bounce/spin than outdoor balls on court surface. With its bigger holes it also tends to take more weird bounces. So i take the extra split second to watch and try to contact the ball in the sweetspot. in general id recommend playing with an indoor ball if you have a wood/concrete/slick floor. We've tried an indoor ball before in this gym and it does just fine. If im in this facility im with the youth pastor or the pastor. Both of them like the play speed of the outdoor ball. With the selkirk pro s1 its bearable playing with it on the gym floor. Compared to a x-40, dura - 40, and even the new vulcan ppa ball. those 3 outdoor balls are a harder plastic and you can watch the ball on some serves or overheads just slide 6 inches to a foot long path before it bounces up. the reason im sure i get flamed in comments of listing this play as 4.0-4.5 is even with the pro s1 doing better on this floor at the end of the day its not court surface. so any spin that is put on the ball doesnt diminish after the bounce like court surface. which makes the pace of play faster and more difficult for any shot off of the bounce. in our experience, playing inside this gym with the selkirk pro s1. we've realized that when we go back to playing on court surface all the shots feel easier and we have all kinds of time and control on the ball. So we continue to play with the outdoor ball in that facility because while on video it looks like we are not 4.0-4.5 we know that that ball/floor combo is making us better players on court surface.
@joeygott14 ай бұрын
definitely not 4.5 level play. I would say solid 3.5. Also, illegal serves by the big guy. It's a fun sport for sure. ENJOY
@LandonWilson884 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and the feedback. I'll check that serve out, he and I are playing in a 4.0 tourney soon. What doesn't come across in the video is how difficult it is to play on that floor.
@AndrewG1924 ай бұрын
weird af that you would speed up footage
@LandonWilson884 ай бұрын
What time Stamp is it sped up at? During the edit process I never (intentionally 😂) adjusted video speed. It's all recorded/edited in 60 frames per second, which makes all the motion look clear and smooth. The ball and floor combo plays super fast compared to normal court surface. We just don't like playing with an indoor ball either. We have no indoor court surface within an hr or two of our area, so this is how we get our pb fix when it's cold, and in this video's case snowing outside.
