People who have not experienced anything else in their life will never understand. This is boring! I lived in Alpharetta in the late 90s. Yes. I get it. That was some time ago. But I hated the fact that I can't WALK from A to B because there were no sidewalks. You can't WALK to the store, you can't WALK to work, even if it's only 2-3 miles away. It's the constant cars cars cars cars and more cars. I could not stand it. I packed up and moved away to a place where at least there were sidewalks in the suburbs so I was able to walk to get my groceries. Alpharetta is nothing but a fake city. You can't sit on the lawn, you can't walk from A to B, you can't ride a bicycle to work, you can't this you can't that. The only thing you actually CAN do is looking at all the manicured lawns and clean spaces and admire it while sitting in your car. What an awful, fake lifestyle.

Look at the sign 9:10 - no skateboarding, no bicycle riding, no rollerblading, no scooter riding. JESUS!? Ever been in the EU where half the city is riding bicycles and scooters? So basically you can't do ANYTHING in Alpharetta, and you can only sit in your car. So awful. Seriously awful.

7:30 - what's the point of having a nice, wide sidewalk when nobody is walking there? Prolly that is why it's nice and wide and clean because not a single person set foot on the sidewalk. Everyone is sitting in their cars and use their car to even go to the toilet. What's the point!? Hey look, we can build all these nice things but nobody actually using it. Same goes for 0:20. A nice park. Yes, because nobody is actually going there. If I were to throw down a blanket in the park and lay down to sunbath, I bet the police would show up in 15 seconds and send me away. So yeah, these are great places the check out from within your car, as you drive by.

It’s about economics! People are people. Rich ppl are on more drugs but they have money so no need to steal for drugs. Atlanta is safer or as safe as NYC, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Memphis ect

I think 20 years ago was worse! More housing projects then. Georgia Tech area in the 1990s was bad. Don’t have more gun control like NYC!!! You will Never get a gun

My family moved to Buford about 4 years ago. It was a great city back then. In the last few years we’ve witnessed a huge decline in the quality of the city. There is way more crime and traffic and all the other things we left Decatur to escape. It really feels like Gwenette is turning into DeKalb. Not for us. Not recommended.

I grew up in Fayetteville since the early to mid 70s and I’ve seen a tremendous change in the last 50 years. I currently live on the northside near Roswell but had to move back to Fayetteville recently for about a year. Yes, Trillith is really nice and neighboring Peachtree City is nice but other than that, It’s a complete bore. It’s not easy to get into Atlanta from Fayetteville because there is no easy access to the highway-you have to work your way through rural backroads or 1,000 red lights before you hit 75 or 85. I also have a dog and there was nowhere to take her. For the southside, It’s a diamond in the rough but I’m just so much happier to be back home now.

@antaviuswhitaker8787 not sure I would consider some of these counties in the metro area. Some of them are pretty rural and over 50 miles away from Atlanta. How do you think the metro area is determined? I’m not trying to be a smart ass, I’m just curious what you think is the defining line for what counties are included and not included.
