is there anything i can do as a rising high school senior to get ahead in med school admissions? and do you recommended retakign basic classes (think general chem, bio etc) when you have the ap credit to skip it?

Man my gpa is isn’t looking that great it’s around a 3.2 ish. It’s just I struggle a lot academically, when it comes test and quizzes. Also, I’m scared of failing a course or not getting the result I want. Then I end up dropping a course. It’s just been a tough ride. This semester I’m gonna stick through it whatever I get. Any advice on this situation.

So he’s essentially saying taking an extra year makes you less competitive? Sounds like nonsense to me, unless in that year you decide to cook crystal meth and set fire to the local Walmart instead of building your application.

This creates a false sense that you have to pursue everything 100%. Not necessary. Life is about more than that. There are many students who get accepted by not having these types of extracurriculars. Show that you enjoy working with and serving people and can surmount challenges. That’s all
