Great video. Let's face it, 70 YEARS AGO Cinerama got it 100% right in the absolute best movie immersion experience. NOTHING has compared since then. IMAX on the 70ft screen actually shot in IMAX was the second best format. IMAX however has never been that super long widescreen format which lessens the "Widescreen immersion" imho. However much I love IMAX movie films. I'm waiting for Cinerama IMAX experience. Shot on 3 IMAX cameras like they did the original Cinerama films. That is the only way IMAX can up their game BIG TIME. Shoot on 3 cameras & present movies in Cinerama or CinemaScope formats. I suppose adding some options of 4DX would be ok for special screenings. They needs to give people show times separate for movie goers that don't like the 4DX like the disabled or older people most likely won't. So, until they have Cinerama/CinemaScope IMAX experience, count me out. The ScreenX had a great idea and they ruined it with not having films presented in a Cinerama shot format. ScreenX feels like being cheated & ripped off imho, when 70 YEARS AGO Cinerama did it correctly. If you are young & never had the chance to see or experience Cinerama, then you will not know or understand what I'm talking about. I seen ALL Cinemascope films at Cinerama Dome in Hollywood California, and there has been nothing like it since. "How The West Was Won" was SPECTACULAR. 2001: A Space Odyssey just SPECTACULAR. FULL CORRECT MOVIE IMMERSION EXPERIENCE. If they ever do this with IMAX cameras on 70ft TALL Cinemascope Widescreen IMAX SCREEN, then it will be BINGO! IMAX is stupid not to go this direction. But it's all about $$$. Shooting on 3 IMAX cameras in Cinemascope format would cost big $$$$ to do probably. What cracks me up is most modern day movies are filmed in 2.39 : 1 (theatrical ratio). But when movie goers go see a movie in a IMAX theater, the movie is CROPPED DOWN to "fit the screen" to 1.85 : 1 . Making the movie actually lose A LOT of the film the way it was actually shot. But most people these days don't even realize that or care they are missing out on a lot of the film & the way it was actually shot. Which is why when Jaws recently came out in Real 3D, I went to a regular theater and seen it presented the way Spielberg actually shot it. Because IMAX cannot show Jaws in it's original aspect ratio. It's impossible. And IMAX does the same with most of ALL the new modern day movies they show in IMAX theaters. They CROP the movies to "fit the screen". These are not REAL IIMAX MOVIES being shown. They just sold the name. The only REAL IMAX movies are filmed using IMAX cameras like with their documentaries. That is the only TRUE IMAX films with the true IMAX film aspect ratio formats anymore & they rarely make them anymore.

4DX + ScreenX + IMAX + Dolby Vision & Atmos = Best of the best of the best.

No, 4DX + Cinerama + IMAX + Dolby Vision & Atmos would be the best of the best actually. For the "fully Immersive" experience anyways. ScreenX is eye trickery & fake mirrored projection. At least Cinerama & Cinemascope was a full screen with no splits and was filmed using 3 cameras. ScreenX imo stole Cinemascope's vision & totally cheapened it and did it badly. Basically cheating & tricking people.

@@WrestlingErnestHemingway Well ScreenX borrowed from Cinerama and not Cinemascope, but I get your point. There can be a massive curved screen like in the Cinemascope promotional art, that would use 8k, or even 16k LED. Most shots would either be standard, IMAX, or even Ultra Panavision 70 shots that would fit on the whole screen without letterboxing, and others would use a Cinerama style 3-lens camera for special panoramic shots.

@@davidsteege4119 no you did great however you missed out mentioning Cinerama shot format and aspect ratios. But today's movie goers don't want to be bothered with knowing technology and that they are missing out on a lot of the films the way they were originally shot. Minor details to most people these days. I prefer to watch most movies the way they were originally shot. This was a great informative video never the less.
