Like Nicole Horn I have to cry of joy!!! Mouth face head body hands and instrument all in one and one for all. It doesn't make sense, but proud to be dutch, it feels so near. Sorry for that folks

Fantastic performance, yet I think you should've shown a bit more caring when uploading this, like replacing the punctuation marks with spaces, and writing the composer's name right: Saint-Saëns.

Hetfetz ea were musicians of a different era in which freedom in self expression was much less accessible than nowadays. Our attention to the body, to feeling, emotion, is also heightened and the body is more considered to be a field of experience that is essential in personal growth and spirituality. I would tend to say that the thesis that music can better be expressed when the mind is directing and as little as possible of the body vibrates, moves, lives with the musical stream, is outdated.

I do not know their comments, but part of being an artist is entertaining the crowd, obtaining the connection with the public is done with moving and expression. I do not think this is the case here but there is something to say for expression and movement in a live performance.

I come to this video to enjoy a beautiful piece of music, and when I scan through comments, I see CaraBrimley and Catherinegoldman, talking about little boys' packages. It is absolutely disgusting. I've played in a band, and I've watched many performances and I have to say, keeping an emotionless face and not moving around when playing DOES NOT make you a better player. What makes her ridiculous? What makes this performance bad? Nothing, because it's wonderful and very bright sounding.

Cara Brimley, bye the way, what about the talent of Mitsuko Uchida? Will you summarize that talent to facial expressions?

Cara Brimley, Do you think English is the only language spoken in the world??Obviously your world is a very small one!You are content to live in your "own little world" without the slightest curiosity about other cultures! Shame on you!How ugly the world would be a lot of people like you! You have the need to draw attention to yourself and, for that, you use only arguments to denigrate other's work. This is positively repugnant! In a word, you're pathetic!

Cara Brimley, You're a brutally annoying person!Your statements are from someone very ignorant! The violinist does many facial expressions, yes she does and what's the problem? You may not have noticed, but is a human being who plays the violin and not a robot! You are sadly arrogant and, shamelessly, you display your arrogance.

As unwatchable as Joshua Bell but superb to listen to. Those who criticize her personal appearance and style have a right to do so - watching a violinist should not detract from the experience. You would have to look back to the older romantic era violinists like Elman and Heifetz to see musicians who didn't need to sway, dance, or grimace to play incredible music. I would even argue that their sound was better because they channeled all their energy into the only parts that matter on a violin.

Why should she, Janine Jansen, care about your opinion when you're the only one being vocal about the "horrible grimaces"? I prefer Janine Jansen's interpretation on some violin concertos, in my opinion. This does not mean I don't like Sarah Chang or Hilary Hahn just because I don't prefer to listen to their interpretation on some pieces.

How can you tell that you play violin better than me? That seems rather arrogant of you to say so. Why are you so against facial expressions and body movements during a performance? Would you rather prefer to watch a robot play an instrument, or would you rather watch a human being express his or her emotions while playing an instrument?

You obviously have no true valuable skills or else you would be selling out concert halls all over the world like Janine but yet you are a nobody who will never be anyone because you are just a bitter woman who comes on great youtube videos to talk trash about people who are successful in something you couldn't! Now please STFU and go practice and do something useful with your washed up life

It's just how she plays if you don't like it then don't watch/listen to it. You spend you time degrading and harassing people who enjoy this and it's completely unnecassary. And at that level you can't truely compete anymore,. Now they just play. Yes I understand the stuggle but honestly I'm the best violist in my school and I don't really compete there but I am competeting for a spot in the New York Honors orchestra so I do have plenty of experience. Try 7 years. You don't seem to have much
