Oh man, that really sucks. Glad you were okay though. Are you still in the sport? I don't see any more videos beyond 3 years. I'm going for my training here in Indiana on August 3rd.

Add another successful fix. My son and I followed these instructions and started laughing when we found the exact same wire melted and broken. Thanks for helping us repair our dryer and saving the money to replace or have a technician come out for such an easy fix.

Great Video. I just have one question, does the tub have to leak as it fills or when the wash cycle starts? My tube fills up fine. No leaks. But when the wash cycle starts, I get a trickle of water from the center. This video has me zeroing in on the seal. Can I run the washer with the top and side off to watch where the water comes from? I mean how did you know where the water came from unless you ran the washer?

Does anyone know why the wire would have burnt , melted the wire in the first place. Just had the same issue, fixed it in the same way this nice fellow did, but it only lasted 3 medium heat runs before no heat again.. Haven't taken the dryer apart again to see if that same wire burnt apart again. I am just concerned of why would the wire burn apart in the first place. Looks like i have another issue that is causing that same wire to burn apart. Any ideas fellows?

Wire connection was lose. Weather it was the spade terminal to the male plug, or where the spade terminal connects to the wire. Loose connections/resistance cause heat.

@3:32 actually that bolt actually does lift the door. Just did it to mine. That why it has a hex shape. Turn that to adjust the height and the hole its going into also has a shape that no matter how loose the bolt is, it will keep it at that height. Cheers for the video and hope my comment helps someone else.

Hi Jason, I ´m trying to solve it by myself , I need to take the agitator up but It´s very hard I have seen some gays take it out by using a rope around the base of the agitator and pull it real hard out , don´t you have some other idea easier for my ´cause I´m afraid to break the plastic , warm greetins from Queretaro, Mex, and Tkank´s for your help.

First, make sure your model is the one in the video. I spent a week getting my inner tub out with a bottle jack and 2x4. Then, chiseling the inner tub hub out with a hammer, just to find out my model, the inner tube ring gets inserted through the bottom of the tub through the drive shaft.

This helped me immensely and found the similar broken burnt out spade connector (actually it is a 16-14 Female Disconnect 0.250") to the heating element at the same location. The required connector can be purchased @ HomeDepot, Lowes or Harbor Freight for $5-7 (incl. taxes) for 10 / combo kit.. Loads of spares still left. After replacement of the connector, the dryer worked flawlessly. Thanks for a useful video.

Four years after your original post and you are still helping. Instructions on how disassemble, find the problem, fix it and reassemble were perfect. To call a service person would have cost $115 in a trip fee alone . The one part I needed came in a package of 15 and cost $5. Easy, inexpensive fix. Thank you.
