How many years did the double major take you ? Did you have to stay a extra year or was it possible to complete it all in the 4 year time frame?

Hi @kateflynn8803! It took me 4.5 years, had to stay an extra semester to finish the two degrees.

@@natruizperez Thank you so much for answering ! This is a very helpful video, i am debating on rather doing a double major in psychology and fine arts or a major in psychology and a minor in art history. I still haven't figured it out if it would be possible for my situation and my career prospect.

@@kateflynn8803 you're welcome! I'd say it depends on the career prospect and your situation. I was lucky to have the financial opportunity to stay an extra semester for both degrees. I recommend talking to students who have taken psych and fine arts/art history at the university you are looking at to see if the workload is doable. I did the general Bio course and that's what allowed me to have more time in Film. Hope this helps!

hello i was wondering is double major hard on you , or your mental health ? is your schedule busy and back to back everyday ?
@natruizperez
@natruizperez 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaedyn, it was definitely hard not going to sugar coat it. My schedule was busy, but I was still able to go out and have my social life. I also kept myself busy with clubs and classes, so had little to no time to worry about everything coming my way, just had to act. I think what made it easier was that these two majors were intensive in different ways: BIO- study a lot outside of class, FILM: at my own pace and I'd get as much out of it as much as I put into it. And google calendar, life saver for managing time and keeping track of study hours. It really depends how you balance it. Sometimes for BIO I would have to take weekends just for studying and not see friends/family. And that would take a toll on me but you live and you learn to take time off, super necessary for focus anyways. Hope that helps!

Jay Maganti, I’m glad this helped!! I would say my biggest tip would be to try it out. It’s scary but I think its the best way to know if you really enjoy either/both. Hope this helps :)
