Should I aim the right side tweeter toward the left(driver) on axis or keep the angle the same as the left side tweeter(sail)?

Nice videos you are making! How about a video that explains the AISA using with the last channel from the dsp and in to the PC/software? Specifically how to align time delay from the OEM head unit. Thanks 😊

I can't fathom dumping THOUSANDS of dollars into a system only to be judged by a man and tell me, you're not good enough. In fact, you've got the worst sounding audio system in the entire competition. Fck THAT. How sad to have to be validated by some man's ear.

If I only use the digital fiber optic input, I am assuming I ignore the channel routing for Analogue & HEC to Virtual channels? It is a bit confusing since the Analogue has all of these pre defined channels, whereas digital just has Left & Right. Also, I am stiill on the old firmware from 4 years ago when I set everything up. Are you supposed to update the Director first? or the Amp first through the director? I tried updating last week and seemed to get locked out. Fortunately I had the old firmware on another laptop and managed to go back to where everything works, but would like to use the new updates.

Do I have this right? The aluminum layer with the butyl is to stiffen the outer door panel from creating its own “bass”. Like a foam core between two pieces of Luan plywood. The butyl between interferes with the flexing of the outer skin stopping the car from emitting road noise. While the layered foam stops the speaker noise from vibrating the door skin from the inside stopping speaker “feedback” or loud stereo rattling that is so often heard. The other flexible brands do not offer the stiffening of the door skin and use butyl as the only sound absorbing material. Would a second or third layer of the aluminum butyl not further reduce road noise and more able to reflect outside sound.

Is 100% (or close to) coverage of CLD really required? I thought shooting for 30% panel coverage eliminated most resonance.

This generalization is incorrect. It doesnt come down to percentage, but how much untreated area is left over. We detail this in our Sound Deadening Materials Reference Information & Guide page. resonixsoundsolutions.com/resources/sound-deadening-materials-reference-information-guide/

FYI, regarding the oil in the bottom of the door cavity, I have a feeling that might be rust proofing solution to deal with moisture that might collect at the bottom. Just got my car done with an undercoating + rustproofing and the oil residue they apply looks really similar to what you see inside the door.

First off, thanks for the car door sound deadening vids as I found them really helpful, realising how far this rabbit hole goes I think I'm gonna have to still do a lot more research before I finally started building the audio system for my car. My question is whether you have any general values on the performance of CLD Lite? I see that on your website you have shown independent testing data which does not include the performance of ResoNix CLD Lite which is I'm guessing is because it came out after the data was collected? I'd appreciate if you could give me even just a general reference on its performance. While I'd like to go for the higher performance makes, I definitely think that will go out of my budget. When I first started off thinking $200 would be enough for new speakers I didn't realise how many additional components I would need just for the audio system alone.

What about the whole outer door panel covered in the wax type substance? That substance is rustproofing at the bottom of the door if it’s a yellow wax like coating. Look up Cosmoline, that’s what it is. Did you ever count the amount of times you said butyl in the video?

Great videos. Thank you for helping us noobs with getting things set up properly. But im having some issues with my Match pp86 mk2 amp, the problem is i think with the IO settings, i can't get the C and D channels to play anything but the rear speakers, even if i only have one input on the IO page i still cant make the front mid's to play. I can get the tweeters in front to work fine on channels A, B. I have tried using channels E and F instead, but the speakers just won't play for me. I have a 8" mid and a tweeter in the front doors and stock speakers in the rear, and a match pp 10e-q sub. Any help would be nice because im about to go crazy figuring this out. Edit: I can´t seem to set the gain on the amp either, no matter what signal i play on a near max volume to set the input gain i get no clipping light, infact the clip light wont light up, not even green before it goes red to signal clipping like it did on the PP62 i had before. Thanks in advance.

Nick, awesome video, as always. Question: is there a way to copy EQ settings back, from DSP Tool -> REW? Sometimes I make adjustments in Helix, and then I want to take all of it back to REW, to play around... but I haven't found a way to do it yet. Other than manually copying each filter back.

Nice to see the planar ribbons as mids. I have the same idea for my car, and wondered why its not done more often. In Diyma you see just a few posts of it. As a home audiophile for decades I have had them in different versions. They still need a box like he has. And his concerns are reel, in summer its not that good for the glue and parts used inside... I wonder how long it will last. But I will try anyhow. The FS is rather high, around 300hz so xo at 200hz is too low I think. I enjoyed this vid with a very nice chill guy. Great build also under the dash, and of course the trunk, 24" true IB wow. Indeed, Its true that with better quality in the low regions, you will find big improvement in the high frequencies. I learned that in home audio. Its strange really but 100% true! But only when the setup is really good and well balanced; the more you will notice. I would love to hear this one. Nice vid Nick!
