Ah, thank you!!! Just got my first lace front wig for Dragon Con in a few days (eek!!!!😂) and the people at the shop were very sweet but there were some language barriers… I feel SO much more confidant now to get ready for my Jessica Rabbit mashup for Bunny Hutch!

My only cosplay is Ibuki Mioda and I just use my electric guitar as a prop. DANG, it's such a pain to carry around.

The last big cosplay drama I heard of was from when I was still staying in Singapore. Basically there is a female cosplayer and a male cosplayer. They used to be friends but were no longer on good terms, but they're invited to the same event in Indonesia. The staff iirc was very helpful in accommodating the female cosplayer when she brought it up to the fact that she's not comfortable with the guy. Long story short, the guy ended up sabotaging her by cancelling her flight ticket, which was booked separately from his, but still under the same account by the organizer. They only found out that it was him because she still had his number when they're trying to check who the guy was, like he used his real number. He also actually used his real name, but it was the English name instead of the Chinese name the girl knew him as. Then a whole slew of stuff came out about him to the larger public, ranging from cutting people off when they no longer serve purpose to him, generally being ungrateful to the people helping him and looking down on people, claiming he made his cosplays even though they're actually commissioned from other people, entered WCS not with a cosplay he made on his own but by his ex partner, didn't pay for a commissioned cosplay then using it to enter another competition in which he claimed it's all made by him, to s*xual harrassment. He's been banned from a lot of local events in Indonesia because of it.

This cosplay is so pretty! How were you able to hand-sew the gems in place? I don't like using glue but I didn't realize it was possible to sew them on since they don't have a loop on the back

I competed at Connecticon 5 years ago, she won that year too. I took Journeyman's. Very disheartening...

@ New viewers who came from Sarah's video: Body shaming is NOT allowed on this channel. It's okay to be critical of the technical fit of a garment, but it's absolutely unacceptable to name call or degrade someone because of their size. Any comments that mock someone's weight will be deleted immediately and blocked.

I will admit that I buy my cosplay outfits, but I make my own props/accessories around them with pics and progress all my own. I can't understand to this day and this is the third time (I think) I've seen a video about this situation involving - said cosplayer - why they do such a low blow thing. It isn't right and it only condones one's own willingness or lack thereof to learn how to make such stuff like I am now. Trust me, it isn't hard. It's a challenge if you give yourself the strength to rise above it and a struggle if you choose to give up.

yaya han is a HACK that chided a person for being the wrong body size for cosplay, and laughed about it. (check cosplay hero's tv series)

Call me mean, call me a fat-shamer if you want, BUT. Seriously, the girl who stole the cosplay is clearly a larger size and Linalia, and the costume is not fitting her correctly. The armor plate area in front of her body is clearly too small, I am aware that the judges do not pay attention to your body size/shape, but didn't they notice that the costume was not the right size, and therefore it could not have been made by her? You CAN say that "oh the costume took months to make, she could have gained weight during that time" but still.

I can't believe the audacity that someone would do that, even worse, she competed a cosplay contest using a costumes she did not make and did not give credit to the one who really made it. Well, you can't just walk away without giving credit to the one who really deserves the recognition.

I live in Canada and ordering a wig from the coscraft in the UK is like 10$ cheaper than ordering a wig in my own country for the same style of wig (and with the canadian werehouse closing and they just announced a price increase, I think it's goodbye arda for me). Also I'd like to add that I'm not even surprised that shipping to the US is cheaper than shipping to Canada for a Canadian company 🥲 If it helps anyone seeing this: Also in my personal experience, I also found that the coscraft fibers tends to tangle less than Arda. I also ordered from coscraft once and they wigs are very tight

Oh wow one of the con guests was Loonette from the Big Comfy Couch?! That was also my childhood omg. Being a cosplay guest sounds so exciting! Loved the vlog and behind the scenes look. I feel like your signed prints were way too cheap, like they couldve been $5 easily! But again it was your first time being an official guest and having a table, so I understand you pricing them that low because you're not sure if they'd actually sell. The frogs were definitely a good idea though, they look so cute to make! Maybe next time youre a guest, you can get some stickers made for your table. That way you have an item thats cheap at $2 to sell so youre not underpricing your other things.

Other reasons cash is better than are sometime vendors remove taxes with cash payments, and it prevents sneaky vendors from charging in foreign currency. I'm in Canada, sometime vendors sell something, they charge the exact amount in cash, but will collect in US dollar instead of Canadian dollar by credit card or debit card, so you get overcharged.
