John thank you for video. Is there a glossary for the meanings of whats what in the Caller table for custom maps?
@evorealtimeАй бұрын
I think this video was about boost target, not custom maps. The entries in the Caller table are Bosch names that match the funktionsrahmen. I think someone posted the funktionsrahmen in the DS 2.5T Facebook group.

Question I also have the ds1 an I can see the 82 on the boost gauge but on my dash screen the boost gauge doesn’t go up or the rpm needle doesn’t stay once I hit set but it shows on the gauge is that normal?
@evorealtime5 ай бұрын
I don't quite follow. Which car, do you have an ethanol sensor, which boost gauge, which gauge viewed on which device? You could always make a video of what you mean and post it in the relevant Facebook group as these things can be difficult to communicate without seeing what someone means.

@@evorealtime I have an Audi s6 2018 I also have the tune ds1 i was trying to run full e85 I was able to set the ethanol content on the ds1 boost gauge but whenever I tried setting it on the car dashboard the rpm needle wouldn’t stay at the number I wanted when I clicked set but maybe it worked cause on the boost gauge it shows it’s at 82%
@evorealtime5 ай бұрын
@@AARONRIOS7 So the problem isn't setting ethanol content and verifying it has been set in a log, it is changing the displayed dashboard boost gauge to ethanol? If so, see the user manual and linked video how to do that: docs.google.com/document/d/14dKUEdBABGpY-qk_Hx7FVnGayUj2Hwh0/#heading=h.2dlolyb If you can't get it to do it, a video of you trying will quickly see which bit is being done incorrectly.

@@evorealtime correct it’s not changing on the dashboard boost gauge but on the ds1 boost gauge it shows it changed
@evorealtime5 ай бұрын
@@AARONRIOS7 Please see the solution above. You need to change the boost gauge to show ethanol content. It is similar to map switching but shows a flashing EPC light when selecting. You need to have the boost gauge showing to see it as well.

@@PGTA2 Aiming for load or torque would give consistency or respect a limit of a transmission or perhaps an engine in some circumstances. If as is more common we are octane or turbo limited and want the maximum safe performance in good conditions, a boost curve (or rather a pressure ratio which is a multiple of the pre-compressor pressure) fits that objective well and is easy to understand, explain and calibrate. You can still have a load limit above that which might get encroached in cold air to respect the limit of a fuel system for example. Or a torque limit that is usually out the way but can protect a transmission in cold dense air.

Can you change the pedal threshold and how do you control what logs are leftover in the DS1, can they be cleared?
@evorealtime3 жыл бұрын
For internal logging the pedal threshold is presently fixed. The DS1 logging runs for 30 minutes when the engine is running with no pedal threshold though and that gets erased when it is downloaded. Both of these methods are volatile so they are lost when the ECU or DS1 powers down (unless saved).

The the DS1 allow you to adjust P, I, and D for the boost control?
@evorealtime3 жыл бұрын

@evorealtime3 жыл бұрын
Hardway Learning commented: "Is the ECU automatically interpolating between Gasoline 1 and Ethanol 1 depending on ethonal content? If the car was only at E60, why did ignition exceed your Ethonal 1 ignition. Reply: Interpolation is based on "Blend ethanol". Often we have that running from the ethanol map at E50 or higher. There are plenty of areas with more than 23 degrees of ignition just before 7000 RPM, it depends on engine load. Also, interpolating the ignition lookup does not always give a 1:1 relationship between ignition lookup and final ignition in the datalog, other factors compensate. On these ECUs it is fairly near though and mostly varies depending on air temperature compensations.

To be honest the "factory" and "OBD" icons don't seem too terribly intuitive for the purpose. Without explicit instruction, I'm not sure that icon is easily recognizable as "factory." Maybe text "buttons" (outlined in an oval) that read "factory flash" and "OBD flash" would make more sense. This may have been addressed, but is there any reason why DS1 can't support transmission tunes? This is an excellent product. A real benefit to TFSI guys. Keep it up 👌

Great video, looking forward to part 2. I'd love to see a video that explains the knock control strategy in more detail. For example, these ecu's seem to pull quite a bit of ignition straight from the factory and it's not uncommon to see -5 to -7 correction on 91 octane. On other platforms this would be seen as quite dangerous.

You can do it as a load target like the Evo if you prefer. Or a combo of load, pressure and torque. In some situations we bring a load limit down to ensure the fuel system can cope in cold weather for example. You can layer it how you like.
