This show is in no way scripted. Hearing the work you all put into this show and hearing those secrets doesn't change what Game Knights and the command zone means to me. He brought back a love for a card game I was shown at 10 and fell in love with it. The works great and for me its nothing short of pure glee when i see new episodes. from Theros to Thunder junction every episode has been a blast. Thank you all for the work. Its simply magical.

Been a long time fan of all that you guys do and the time you take to make such great content. If it wasn't for your episodes with posty and all your videos on deckbuilding, my fiance wouldn't have gotten into magic as much as she has!

I spent the last 2 days rewatching both times Josh played his shorikai as well ad the precon upgrade guide and I'm still wondering are you sticking with the original plan? Have things changed since then? Idk maybe call it something like the reforge podcast or regear?

I came from yugioh and really wanted to get into commander and I think the most important thing is, that GK is communicating everything thats happening so perfektly. You guys are doing a great Job!

Whats crazy is i just started rewatching gameknights from the beginning the night before last, and was thinking despite how rough the first few episodes were, you can really see the bones of the show. Its amazing how far yall have come in 8 years. It got me wondering about what goes on behind the scenes, and this episode gets released 2 days later. Yall spying on me?

When my playgroup started playing commanders we all had like three, four or five tutors or tried to get even more out of them. By now, most of us play not a single tutor anymore. We try to build our decks that whatever we have in hand, we can do something with it. That's much more fun imo.

I think this podcast was a fantastic idea, and is best summarized by one simple perspective that all casual Commander players should live by: *EVERYONE AT THE TABLE IS A SHOWMAN.* Your goal while playing your deck is to show it off - what it can do, the weird interactions it will inevitably have with your opponents' decks, etc. And if you have that goal and desire, then so too do your 3 opponents. You need to stop or stifle them to show your own deck off, but don't play with the end-goal of just shutting down others'. Mulligan until you have a useful hand, and if you're unlucky, you can always ask if you can re-mulligan/re-shuffle. Bring enough power that you can actually play the game, but don't just chuck it full of "goodstuff" that will powerlock your opponents out of the game. Of course there's wiggle room and interpretation in all of these steps, but in the end, your goal should be to show your opponents a good time, and demonstrate how much fun your deck is to play in a casual setting.

Hey I just wanted to say I got into magic about 5 months ago and I did because of your channel, you introduced me to commander and I built my own commander deck for my first deck and loved the game. I love your content and what you guys stand for and the amount of passion and hard work you put into all of your game knights episodes, even the extra turns ones. I learned alot from this channel and will always be grateful for you guys introducing me to Magic, In fact my older brother used to collect in the early 90s and 2000s but I never would have asked him if it wasnt for your channel. I always finish watching game knights extremely satisfied and learn about cards and interactions that I see NO one else do.

For the not wanting too many boardwipes, I've really been enjoying Breaking Point when I'm playing red. It's only 1RR for a sorcery that destroys all creatures unless someone takes 6 damage, unless the person with a bunch of creatures is also gaining a bunch of life that might be a hard/risky decision. Especially if you have any of the red damage amplifiers out on your board.

I have a suggestion for Game Knights or Xtra Turns. A Championship. Sometimes if there are no guests, you can defend the championship in a game.

I played with JLK/Jimmy/Kyle on the channel fireball's first pandemic commandfest at home and I had a Mana Crypt in my deck, and it got played. When I submitted my decklist, initially it was not there (decklist was out of date). It ended up surprising Kyle and I felt bad about it at the time. The game ultimately played out well -- Jimmy won in a tight match. In any case, your policy makes sense, but if I was in any way responsible for contributing to the house ban, sorry :(

It isn't scripted, but the directors also do not randomly pull people mid-turn out of the game to provide a one-liner or two. This happens after the fact. It always does in shows that use that format.

The one time I thought it was scripted, wasn't because it was "the writing is so good." It was because a player actively gave up winning the game when they very obviously had it... if it was scripted, it was POOR writing because it was so obvious. Your team responded and it was just a distraction, which, because of the way you guys do film, I can understand getting distracted with other things aside from the game... which is a downside to the way you film. Everyone else films in "one take." Which makes it more visceral and real. I think that's why people think you're scripted, because it has moments that feel like a TV show... which are scripted.
