Here's an Idea for a campaign... -Shroud of the False Night. The Pale Night's Shroud has found a new owner. A prankster urchin living in the slums of a large city. He/She uses the shroud's magic to garnish wealth, fame and power. Absolutely oblivious to the fact that the Pale Night is on a war path to recover her lost garment. The idea is inspired by Majora's Mask. .i.e. You have to save the day before the moon collides with earth. OR in this case... Before the naked Pale Night collides with the city. However unlike Majora's Mask. You're party has no visible preemptive warning. They don't know the Pale Night is on a war path. Instead you're party has to unravel this calamity before it's to late.

An ancient steel dragon, one so old that it's in the last few centuries of its life, has become a mysterious and reclusive patron to an entire city. The patron can be seen in public whenever a new business, art project or other intellectual event. They actively attract the wisest and most eccentric minds of the the current age in an attempt to initiate a Renaissance or Enlightenment. The entire city becomes its 'lair'. Improvements in infrastructure can be attributed to the 'patrons' generosity with funding.

I was thinking of an origin for the false hydra. I was thinking of making the song a homebrew 7th level bard spell that bards use for stealth. However, they can only play it for prof minutes a day. If played too long, then it would activate the curse behind the song and slowly turn the bard into a false hydra. I even had an idea for a homebrew warlock pact with the false hydra. Working out the details for how to make it work

Late to the party but oh well. I imagine a town having a bunch of these around to reduce infrastructure cost and it's memory resets everyday and you just have to tell it a story it hasn't heard to cross. And killing a bridge is a capital offense that seems wacky to outsiders.

I like the idea of a lighter chassis Kython that prioritizes speed over durability. Maybe it sprouts wings like a grasshopper for limited flight. I’d love to see something like a water strider that can glide across the surface of a lake.

This is an example of the power of "I notice that I am confused." If the townsfolk didn't make shit up when encountering a situation that made no sense, they'd be better situated to look for the real explanation. Yudkowsky FTW!

How about a Ruin Chanter who is in an active war against a Dryad from a near forest? The Dryad claims that the ruins were once part of the forest, then some humanoinds came and build their structure for one reason or another only to abandon them when they were no longer needed, now the Dryad is trying to reclaim these ruins while the Ruin Chanter tries to protect them.

A massive chia golem that carries the giant beanstalk from the fairy tale. If the players need to access a specific cloud giant settlement then they have to track the thig down and lead it to specific location where the solid clouds are. Also for more fun, silly golems check out the maggot golem in Dragon Magazine issue 339.

Thanks for the video! Always love dragons. It's funny that the artist who made the wyrmlings for Cobalt Dragons also made the one for the Platinum Dragons, because I kept thinking that, ironically, a Cobalt Dragon could arguably be a type of dragon over-represented amongst Platinum Dragons. At least as far as evil-aligned dragons go. They already have nurturing instincts/culture for their own young, fierce protection of their "subjects" as parts of its hoard, and a very logical/lawful mind. All that's required is a relatively minor shift in perspective as far as how to maximize hoard-value and you go from the typical Cobalt Dragon tyrant, to one genuinely trying to build a Utopian kingdom. After all, between two kingdoms of the same geographical size, with similar natural resources and populations, which kingdom is more valuable, a better hoard? One built out of slaves that take every chance they can to run away from this miserable existence? Or one with, for the times, an extremely well-educated, highly skilled and prosperous population? Loyalty has its own value when it comes to hoards that in part consists of living beings. Especially since it lets the martial might of the hoard go far higher without as big a risk of mutiny and the sort. If this is in a region with a draconic population, it's even better for the Cobalt Dragon to keep a loyal kingdom, as that means the army elites can be quite high-levelled without risk. An opponent the Cobalt Dragon can't take on one-on-one can just be dealt with by a high-levelled party led by said dragon. Thus letting the kingdom grow bigger than what the Cobalt Dragon alone can defend. Sure, it'll be far more dogmatic and strict than the average Utopia, and with the borders restricted, you need to go through a lot of paperwork to be given a passport and permission to leave, but you're happy knowing that the ruler has a vested interest in allowing you to grow into your best self, and the reachable region outside of the kingdom's borders is a total shithole ruled by egomaniacal tyrants anyways, so why should you ever want to leave anyways? Just believe in the Glorious Ruler who believes in the you who can do your part in perpetuating this bliss, and expanding it to encompass more and more of the sordid world beyond its CURRENT borders..!
