This is the best scene I've ever seen in a show. I'm glad he's in another show that's like Shameless. I love this show.

Those moments are what makes this show great. Only show that has similar moments to me is Mad Men. The Wire felt more dramatized in comparison.

When Don sees the showreel of Megan he realises she's not a Betty, she has talent and will be a big star, and he will get left behind. So him walking away from the film set and into the darkness with "you only live twice" playing is genius. He did live twice, first as Dick then as Don, first with Betty then with Megan. He realises he's always going to be unfulfilled, so on he goes to the bar to cheat some more. Is he alone? Yes, but that's ok because he won't be when he's with her friend. It isn't until season 7 that we see true, satisfying growth of Don Draper

The apotheosis of grief. A mother realizing her daughter is gone-from her, forever. A father salvaging what he can out of the wreckage of a cruel world.

Might genuinely be one of the best scenes in the whole show, I watched it all for the first time recently and that soldiers line gave me goosebumps. Amazing writing.

Goosebumps every time. I have a coworker named Lex, so instinctively whenever i see his name I automatically whisper "Lex is in there". The wire is still best show of all time in my book.

Ok I’m reaching here . But I like to extend my analyses further than is necessary . The no smoking sign when John opens the door after he finds out his daughter is part of a cult that smokes non stop ( even if he doesn’t know it yet) and finds Kevin sitting there who also lost his wife earlier to the same cult . Then this being the scene where John and Kevin both come to common ground on the mysteries happening around them is such a great piece of detail

This and the hunting scene were the most disturbing scenes in Mad Men. Later I learnt it was their metaphor for the Vietnam war.

How come this snapped me out of my depression, for a good moment? I do have clinical depression diagnosed by a doctor, I’m not lying. But when Soldier Boy said this, it made me.. pause… like it was suddenly cured

@@adreon It’s been rough… i lost my girlfriend, lost my grandpa, and got rejected from my dream job Growing up I didn’t even have a father figure either, I wanted to cry but i can’t even cry, when Soldier Boy said that it gave me some excuse to just snap out of it and just do something you. Like a “fuck you” revenge message to bad things that happen in life type of attitude.
