Interesting, tiny little differences. Was this conducted by Williams?

It was performed last year at Tanglewood by the Boston Pops conducted by Keith Lockhart.
@@franklehman8677Yes. The audio from this video (Part 8) is already included at the end of Part 7.

When not sandwiched between goofy story beats, that Last Jedi scene makes me choke up. She's lost everyone, her husband dead, her son isn't himself, she probably feels the weight of a tyrannical warlord being her dad and wondering how it came to that, and now her brother, that she hasn't seen in ages is the next in line to die. Being back to back with that Return of the Jedi scene it makes me see how much can change in ones life. It's almost dystopian. But lets be real this will be senior life for some real people.

Williams, either in a clever way or for some other unknown reason, plays the theme in a jaunty, almost bouncy way ("jazzy" as some describe it), which completely masks any of the true sentimental meaning of the theme yet does indeed hit every note & chord progression as heard in the score. Idk if he was trying to be elusive on purpose or if he just wanted to perform it with a slightly different spin, because I guarantee that if Gene Shalit somehow caught wind of what the theme represents, he would certainly have made an offhand comment that completely spoiled the surprise without any intention of doing so. I can hear him now "I recently sat with John Williams who played the brother-sister theme of George Lucas' upcoming conclusion to his space odyssey" & heads would have rolled.

Works flawlessly with the ambience of the night time forest visuals. Just masterful. Clearly some spicy jazz harmony in that first chord voicing too. Love it.

Honestly that scene in TLJ is probably my favorite musical moment in Star Wars, from Luke’s theme transitioning into Luke and Leia’s them before transitioning into Han and Leia’s theme when he hands the dice

I guess, because this is evoking ghosts, this is Halloween music. Love it. But, also! Man 'o' man! The second movement of the Cello Concerto ("Blues") has lots of mysterious passages, too. Much more mysterious than bluesy really. Thank you, John, I love it! AND! Can Yo-Yo be BELIEVED? How does anyone get that good? I rarely use the word astonishing, but it's time...the cadenzas are astonishing.

Wow! I love mysterious music and the name John Williams did not seem to be the name of a composer of mysterious music. Some sections of Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich, but mostly I had to settle for sci-fi soundtracks and Halloween music. But now, John Williams, who always does deliver great music no matter what is called for, has come up with a definitive mystery-note informed entire piece! Kudos! And, of course, as always, Yo-Yo Ma is 137% perfect. Always that extra bit of excellence...

Oliver Stone liked "The Conspirators" so much that he used it at three times: the opening credits, Mr. X's monologue, and Garrison's listing of Dealey Plaza witnesses.

As the story goes: in 1990, Maestro Leonard Bernstein was visiting Highwood, an historic property on the Tanglewood grounds. There, he claims to have seen an apparition, a ghost of some kind. So, in celebration of what would have been Bernstein's 100th birthday in 2018, John Williams wrote the piece you hear based on that encounter with "Highwood's Ghost".
