My only gripe with campaign mode is that you start in the tag division. Tag matches in this game are an absolute chore to try to play through.

@@namemcnamerton4249 I agree! I think it might have something to do with it sharing the same style mode as VPW2. But I wish you had the option to be strictly singles.

WWF WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy were the games that started it all even way back as an infant. The charm the games had still lingers with me to this day and whenever I see the Attitude Era figures/ring or playing WWE ‘13, I get reminded of this game.

I own all 4 of the AKI wrestling titles released in the UK still and I replay them all to this day. More so, I often come back to WM2000 the most. I love the graphics, the presentation, even the difficulty. It may lack the features of No Mercy and mechanically it doesn't perform at its peak like VPW2 but the game shows the beginnings and the remnants of both those games and it keeps bringing me back to play more.

To me this is good game but Revenge and especially No Mercy are better and so is VPW2. Its kind of weird transitional game to me, kind of like WCW vs NWO was.

@@NateTheGnat I always feel this game's new editions are overlooked today such as caws and the first season mode. Plus the 99 roster was captured best in this game.

I disagree. Wm 00 is revenge with more features. Just the addition of caw makes it better. You can create all the missing wwf wrestlers and add the wcw / ecw roster. Road to wm, king of the ring, new match types, authentic entrances, gameplay additions. This is definitely the better game

@@MR.__G It’s technically better but for nostalgia reasons I prefer Revenge. The Wcw nwo is so iconic. And the music in Revenge is the best in the whole series.

I had wwf no mercy as a kid and got WM2000 later on. As much as I liked the variety, I wasn’t stuck on it like no mercy What was cool was The Brood and Ministry of Darkness lol

This is a good game but certainly not the best. The road to WrestleMania is hard as nails. I can take losing to Steve Austin or the Rock but losing to jobbers is just crazy. Also a lack of cutscenes hurt the game imo.

@@christianraines3032 yeah, you could go an entire playthrough without cutscenes really. Which is a shame considering the have quite a few. Just nothing much happens for them to play.

@@beanomac3126 Yep and the cage matches were brutal. It took me several tries to realize that to win a match your spirit meter had to be on finisher to climb out of the cage. I played as Undertaker and was dominating Steve Austin but couldn't win until I figured it out

That save data glitch killed me as a boy. I didn’t really get new games and pestered my mum for it as my main present for Christmas. Was so glad to get it then that save wipe woukd happen every now and then. Totally riuned it, didn't know until years later through youtubers like yourself that it was a thing and that I could have sent away for a replacement. No Mercy is my favourite wrestling game and I have the fixed cart and also on my everdrive.

@@sanny87 same here honestly. I played the game a few years later around 2006 or so but I had the bugged version. I didn't really let it bother me though cause I was more patient back then somehow. It's a sad stain on an otherwise legendary game.

Yeah, it's a cool feature. You can theoretically play as anyone with a model. Even Kabal and Sonya who only show up in cutscenes. The engine in this game is awesome. I'm still trying to figure out how to get characters like Smoke and Noob to play for a future playthrough.

I think it was around 2011 time when Vince almost took it off completely. Would have been replaced by bragging rights I think. But they stopped with the whole brand warfare thing for a few years so I think that's what saved it.

@@beanomac3126 by bringing the War Games match to the main roster. Past two years of having that match has given Survivor Series new life. Especially last year with CM Punk returning after the men's War Games and cause some freakouts just by showing up

I agree, it was a great move! Even if the tag matches weren't a big deal though like in the attitude era, they still had some of the biggest moments of the year for a while. Like 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2001 all had some of the biggest ppv endings of those years.

I love the music in this. Especially for generic/ non real music. When I played this as a boy I didn't know who most of the wrestlers were as I had only really seen WWF. I obv knew Hogan and the big names who'd been in WWF. I was confused by the bizarre frankenstien character and sorta non licensed wrestlers.

Wrath's phantom mask data may be from the devs wanted to use his entrance mask and not fully correcting their mistake. Or maybe they wanted Mortis in the game at first?
