I was there Friday and Saturday. It was a bit of a wait on Friday, but I got in smooth on Saturday morning. Had a blast, but it was insanely crowded.

I’ve been following on social media since I left and it seems if you wanted to get in when the doors opened it was a big wait and line. Idk. Once inside I had a good time though.

@@KhangCollects I got there around 915 Friday and Saturday and was in the show before 10am both days. Not ideal, but I didn’t mind hanging out in line and talking about cards with people. It was my first National, and I’m definitely planning on going back next year. I think they did a pretty good job in Cleveland, but I have no frame of reference. Looking forward to Chicago next year.

2:30 - not quite to the days where we became obsessed with wrapping things in plastic, putting them in a plastic bag or plastic container, wrapping the container in plastic, placing it in a plastic crate, into a cardboard box, stacking it on a pallet, then wrapping the pallet in plastic...

Definitely more waste in packaging now a days but they definitely need to be sealed bc of all the crooks out there!

@@KhangCollects heh, funny you mention that; I remember how if you really knew what you were doing, you could open wax packs, search them and pull the good cards, and "re-seal" it. Ah, the good 'ole days!

I bought tons of boxes of those way back in the day... I remem pulling several Mantle cards but never an auto sadly.

Yeah, I think they thought it helped make the card look "3-D" by having the photo of the player overlap that oversized border, but idk.

Aren't these all retail boxes and not Hobby boxes? Hobby boxes typically have 24 packs. I think the current $1000 cost are for Hobby boxes cause the insert odds are much easier vs retail. Still I think retail versions go for a few hundered bucks now which is mindboggling since I opened these back in the days.

Sorry, but that back centering on that 1 of 1 will down grade it to a 9!! LOL!! I stayed at The D a few years back, and there was a card shop in the area. Bought a Topps Retired Alan Trammell signed card.

Nice rip Khang! Happy Father’s Day! That Waller was cool to pull from a blaster for sure. Nice Lions out of Optic as well. I’ve been crazy lucky out of Optic this year. Pulled a sweet rookie Kings AR, and a couple Downtowns including Stafford in a Lions Uni! I almost did the Gator scream when I pulled it!

Do you put most of your cards in the hard plastic holder in a penny sleeve or do you use the softer plastic ones like BCM?

I use a penny sleeve and pretty much any top loader. For nice cards a magnetic one touch.

That Jordan Upper Deck card is know printed using Lenticular Printing. Topps used it in there 1997 Screen Plays baseball set.

@KhangCollects I can't say for sure. I'm guessing they would have paid the million if it was pulled sooner rather than later. There are lots of Bedard cards out there in different products. Like the game used jersey pieces, you get in certain cards and any higher end products with other 1/1 cards. I'm just guessing. But someone will pay a ridiculous price, I'm sure.

I love the Monopoly blasters! I’ve pulled a Victor silver, gold /49, red dice, bronze #’d Luka, and a few other nice parallels. Like the Billups card. Recently picked up all the Fleer cards of the whole 04 Pistons team.

2001 Topps extended set is Miggy’s true rookie. I believe topps did not make a card for Miggy in 2002 or 2003, his 2nd card came in 2004 Topps.
