At 1.21: that looks like a model of a Sheela-na-gig. It's an obscene figure carved on Kilpeck Church in Herefordshire. Interesting video.

I've never heard of the story, except to say, that when we moved into a newly built house on Habberley Estate in 1959, when my twin brother Roy and I were 8 years and 10 months old, with the friends we soon made we went exploring the wood, when we come across the caves, and for some reason I've never forgotten that first encounter of them

Thank you so much for your kind words. I recently read (actually listened on audible) to a fantastic biography written by Richard Morton Jack, he wrote it with permission from Nicks sister Gabrielle who manages Nicks estate. I saw Gabrielle earlier this year at Wenlock Priory, I didn’t speak to her as I didn’t wish to intrude but saw her in the gift shop. She lives in the house by the priory.

I knew someone buried there hope you don't think I'm mad but I saw him many years later cross the road while driving in front of me and disappear into the forest it was definitely him wearing his long black coat and black hat, his name was Fred Smith

I bet that was spooky. I would’ve loved that! It’s been cleared up a lot since this was taken. They’ve restored some of the headstones & cleared away some of the foliage. I mistakenly thought it was ‘abandoned’ as it was massively overgrown and I’d never been there before despite living in Kidderminster all my life. Attracted quite a bit of negativity for that. I personally liked the fact that nature was reclaiming this area, it added an extra quality to it. I guess in some ways it’s nice that the gravestones have been repaired though

I used to go in the seven stars I think the landlord Ray had a false leg, but was a brilliant drummer, this was probably in the seventies! I lived in Bromsgrove and served in the Mercian Volunteers in the local T.A.V.R. and spent a lot of time at the barracks in Kiddy! I also did a lot of building maintenance work at Adams carpet factory for William Weaver and sons, builders, Bromsgrove! I remember one of Johnny's routines, dressed as Charlie Chaplin, 'hello, hello, my name's Johnny Cash, the name's Johnny, got no Cash, Johnny Cash, the change for a French letter machine'! and then, a quick jiggle of his bowler hat and a bit of Chaplin walking! A funny, funny, man, may he rest in peace wherever he ended up! 👍 I've told lots of people here in Brighton where I've lived for the last 26 years, all about Johnny, but most of 'em think I'm just pulling their pissers!🤪They broke the mold after they made Johnny, but thinking back on it, it was probably cracked before they made him!🤫 Thanks for putting up the vid!👍👍👍👍👍

Every decision Wyre Forest Council has made over a long period seems to have been to the detriment of the people of Kidderminster which this and some other videos make painfully clear.

We went to an after dark event at Kenilworth castle one Halloween, it was really good lots stories and people jumping out at you, but as we were walking through the gardens, there was no one else around, we saw a lady lying on the floor by the fountain, I knew she was going to scare us to death but after a good few minutes of thinking about it I knew I had to check it wasn’t someone actually in need of medical attention, as you can guess I went over to check on her and that’s when she decided to start screaming at me, and chased me round the garden, her commitment to her role was admirable, she very patiently waited for me to go and check on her 😂

My nan roma whittall worked in the infirmary hospital 1940,s as a cleaner, she told me she cleaned the mortuary where a porter lay on the slab with a sheet over him & scared my nan witless when he sat upright. A somewhat ghostly apparition brought on by a mischievous porter 😄

Oh my Lord!! The music was a lovely edition, expecially the second song. It was perfect. The landscape and view, there are no words to describe the beauty! Is this a really remote location? Why would a church be there? Is the building used for anything today? Is the church a historic landmark or more or less forgotten?

This is a legend about St Govan “Long, long ago, in the 5th or 6th century, there lived in Pembrokeshire a saint by the name of St Govan. Alas, one day when St Govan was walking along the south coast of the county, he was seen and pursued by a gang of bloodthirsty pirates. Miraculously as he was running away from these pirates, a cleft opened up in the cliff above him and he was able to tuck inside it and hide. It was such a squash and a squeeze in that place, however, that even today you can still see the marks his rib cage made on the rocks. St Govan stayed in hiding until the pirates sailed away. Then, miraculously, the cleft in the rock opened up once again. But St Govan quickly decided that the safest thing for him would be to continue living in that rocky cell. The way he survived was by eating fresh fish from the ocean and drinking water from a sacred spring that flowed nearby. He also had a magic bell and this St Govan would always ring, most probably to warn anyone else in the area, whenever the pirates returned. The pirates were not happy about St Govan’s bell and cunningly they managed to steal it. However, justice was done to those evil men when a terrible storm blew up, and in the storm, their ship was sunk. Angels then came and retrieved the bell. When they brought it back to St Govan, they encased it in the middle of a huge rock so that it would never again be stolen. Thereafter, whenever St Govan tapped this rock in times of need, it sounded a note a thousand times stronger than the original bell. If you go down to St Govan’s chapel today you can still see ‘bell rock’. Legend has it that if you make a wish while standing in the rock cleft it will come true - as long as you don’t change your mind before you turn around.”

As an Anglophile, I hope you don't mind me sharing ways to improve this video. I would love to hear more history. Even with just an online search I was able to find that the denomination is the Church of Wales. But if it dates back to medieval times I would imagine at one time it was Catholic? Also, more history about the wells! Those are fascinating and older than the church, I wonder if it's written somewhere if the wells were the reason the church was placed there. I read about an old Easter Custom called "Throwing Christ's Nails Away" or "Throwing Lent Away". And parishioner of the church would carry nails during lent and on Easter Day would throw the nails in the wells. Checking out some of the tombstone would be intersting. Are any of the legible? Any idea which is the oldest and which is the newest? And lastly, some nice mood setting music would be nice. I absolutely LOVE videos like this. Thank you so much. Having never been lucky enough to make it to Britain I live vicariously through stuff like this.
