I just have gotten one of these axes. Will use it for traditional dugout canoe, canoe which will be 'steamed' and widened. This Axe can reach inside the 'overhanging' cuts where an adze can not, blade is "in plane" with haft, not at 90 degrees like an adze. Many Thanks.

I don't think l'd wasted my time or tools on that piece of wood. The worm and worm holes were just gross. Love your tools though!

Absolutely awesome bit of work 👏. You have some super tools too, very nice and very impressive, they are all super shiny highly polished and I would guess razor sharp, how do you get them to that point ??. Also, do you oil the tools before putting the leather sheaths back on ?? I got a Beavercraft bowl adze for Christmas from the Mr's, not used it yet but, took it out to have a look and tried a little go, yes have touched the blade, having another look there was a small bit of discolouring/ rusting look ? Probably perspiration from my hands, cleaned and wiped, some 3 in one oil and put sheath back on, hopefully it will be ok, have I done the right thing ? Any advice you could give would be appreciated greatly. Cheers, Many thanks Les.

For me, the choice of wood that is so badly eaten by bark beetles is disqualifying.

Fantastic tools, but you have to oil them after use (everytime ) because they will very quickly rust if you do not.
