Very helpful, I've completed your full instruction. However when I open my email, MS Authenticator pops up. When I delete the screen Outlook opens, but it only displays past messages, and I can't send anything from my account. Do you have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks again!

Question about the Free Version -- Can you export your choices and import them into a different install? I tend to install newer versions (or if they're buggy older ones) and if I make a lot of changes I'd like to be able to repeat them on different builds instead of sitting here time and time again. Hello, when i create the windows iso file with media creation tool does it have the windows license embedded in it? My laptop came with windows 10 preinstalled and the license is embedded in the laptop itself. When i some time ago once made a clean windows installation through windows updater it just installed with the license that the previous OS had. I also have the license tied to my email and microsoft account, but i want to skip the whole microsoft authorization thing in NTlite. My question is will my new customized OS will have the license in it after it is manipulated with NTlite?

No, so most new PC's store the license in the bios, if it has been removed from the bios or can't be recognised then you will need to purchase a new license. If the PC still has the license in the bios then when you go to install a custom version of Windows using NTLite, that will then auto detect the license like most installations.

Easy. Switch to Linux. Kubuntu with KDE is miles and miles better than winblows. for the super nube, Mint (I do NOT like cinnamon desktop. VERY clunky).

Finally! Some instructions that make sense and don't lead to a non-existent location (looking right at you Microsoft). The forced authenticator causes no end of issues for many of our end users and Microsoft really make it difficult to disable. Hopefully it will do the trick.

Thank you. Once the backup is complete, will all the emails from the (.pst) file be uploaded to the new mailbox? For instance, if I have migrated to MS365, will I be able to see all the backed-up emails on the web afterwards?

Yes you will be able to. Just make sure when exporting the PST you select the whole account structure as shown in the video. Then once you have uploaded the PST you will then be able to see all emails via outlook web app and Outlook desktop client or any other email client used to access the account 👍🏼

I selected the backup that includes the subfolder; however, after syncing, the subfolders are empty, All emails have been moved to the Outlook cloud. Do you have any advice regarding the subfolders?

Ah yes. So this is a common issue when migrating folders. There is a tool which I use to fix this as it's related to the view settings. If you go to this website and checkout the section under 'Method 1 Automated fix with a script' and follow the instructions using the handy tool that will fix the issue, I've used this tool many times and it works great and fixes the issue within minutes. The best and fastest way is: Identity / Overview / Properties/ all the way down, option, Manage security defaults, Disabled.

I can confirm this is also another way of doing it, however I have had reports from other Microsoft 365 admins that the security defaults sometimes get's switched back on by Microsoft.

Small trick, when you start to install select Englisk and then world and do not connect the internet. You will get a clean system without bloatware.

Bitlocker? Every other video of this kind suggests turning Bitlocker off. I do regular system image backups and have just my sensitive files encrypted with encryption software. Is Bitlocker a better bet for me?

It depends on your requirements and needs. Bitlocker is generally a good basic encryption to use if you take your devices out in public or deal with sensitive information. Although personally I use an alternative encryption software called VeraCrypt (video on that soon) which offers more customisation options and overall better security.

What happens when you find out send items have not been imported. Can you repeat the excercise? Can you also import from more than one pst file to the same account?

Yes you can repeat the exercise. I would suggest just doing the export for the sent items only. That way, it will avoid causing any duplications. You can also import from more than 1 PST to the same account, but you can only import 1 PST file at a time and not multiple in one go. Hope this helps!

Get new PC with Windows installed, nuke it with Linux Distributions such as Linux Mint, Linux Lite, Pop OS. Manjaro, Zorin OS, Ubuntu and it's Flavors. for those that are techincally savvy, Arch Linux. problem solved and you will live a happier and privacy filled life :D

Did you try to use English (world) in instalation process of windows? If no try it. Result is less apps in the Windows environment after instalation.

Get into the BIOS and change boot order to USB first. Insert live stick with your preferred Linux distro (Mint is good). Click erase disk and install. You're welcome.

Setting up as a local account is getting more and more difficult. A lot of bypasses are now being blocked.

Yes I agree, local accounts are getting more difficult. They may soon make major changes in the future to block local accounts but I am sure there will always be an alternative method. When all of the methods change or get blocked I will post a new video.

Hi there! So a few questions before I can answer.. 1. Are you just simply changing domains? For example from example.com to example.ae ? 2. If yes to the above, it would be best to just add the .ae domain to the existing Microsoft tenant and then remove the old domain and update all of the mailboxes to use the new UAE domain. If you do the above method, you won't lose any mailbox data as you are only just updating the domains unless you are looking to create a new tenant completely.
