May not be the best thing to walk into in the morning, but a SIMILAR thing happened with me!! I was at home, not too far off from my first school when I heard this EXACT tone! It was muffled, and i couldn't find out the direction of which it was coming from. I went outside, and sure enough, the school was emitting that tone. So, I assumed the obvious and ran over to the school, and sure enough, an appliance was already sitting at the front parking lot with 2+ members inside. I walked closer, tone getting louder, and noted that, in fact, the school was in emergency. The Pertronic F16 stated that it was coming from the 7th zone, first floor, middle classroom. Ran towards, met the new Notifier SPH-15 horn that'd been just installed, and GOD was it loud! I ran to the alarmed class and noticed no active device.. so, i kept being the detective I am, and looked above the exterior veranda.. and sure enough, a defective Pertronic indicating heat was in alarm. Alarm was silenced, appliance left, and realized that the F16 said "defect"! The detector was falling off the roof, probably weathered, causing the alarm. The system is monitored by FENZ. Should be replaced soon.. totally an AWESOME experience though!

Cause was a smoke detector that had gone off after dust from an air conditioner that hadn’t been turned on in a while was blown into the detector.

General question. I am setting up an f16e demo and became stuck. Unlike my f4, the f16e doesn't go into alarm on an open circuit in the zones like the f4 can. This means my older switch based call-points don't work and just create an open circuit defect. I don't have any powered detectors to test but I assume they would work. Is it a thing that can be configured? Thanks for reading and I am happy to see a video! Keep it up!

F16e should have a 1997 mode depending on the version. Send me an email with some photo's of the panel and board. Email is in my about section :)

It’s happens on all Dsc systems where it goes in stay mode if you type in the code but beeps like it’s going into away mode. You just gotta press the actual away button in order to fully arm it into away mode

Hey bro that mcp your unsure of is a carrel &carrel mcp as far as I could find is carrel & cartel rectangular mcp but I’m sure it would have to have a proper name they are no longer made but the switches on them seem to be different on a lot of them some having a pertronic like switch style then the one you’ve gots style and then some weird switch on some. Will do some more research and try to find out more

Vigilant Alpha 1 system. Single-zone. These systems I have not seen in New Zealand. Specifically Christchurch, where I am based. I tend to see others, such as the MX1, FP1600, and whatnot, but I have never actually found an Alpha. I prefer these panels over the F1 due to design. I like the Alpha design - it's good. Using nice Series 130 call points by Vigilant, installed by Wormald, I am to assume the system is also maintained by them? Anwyay, the alarm of choice is off. Ampac (Klaxon) sounders with PS1 red sounders. If the PS1s need an amplifier, which I'm sure they do, why not put more around the premises instead of Ampac sounders? Also, how'd you get that Ampac tone? Was it selectable on the Pertronic EVAC50W24V amplifier or any other one you used?
@NZFireAndSecurity
@NZFireAndSecurity 9 ай бұрын
There are 4 Pertronic speakers with that form factor. The PS1 is a sounder that takes 12-24 volts and make a sound similar to those ampac sounders. The PSS1 is 100v and does require a separate tone gen to work.

Another thing is your panels are probably one of the best panels because they have built-in voice Evec here in the US voice Evec would cost you around $2000-$3000 depending on what panel you’re getting and most of our panels are very proprietary. Meaning you need a computer to program them for example Est 3 is extremely proprietary You can’t do anything with that panel without the software.
