5:24 I think your reasoning for adding back interest * (1-t) is wrong. The FCFF are without capital structure consideration. Hence, you need to re-calculate the tax so it does not include the tax shield. So you're not actually adding back interest, you're calculating what NOPAT would be without a tax shield (full tax), and hence, no interest expense. Didn't hear you mention that

Where does the issuing company get the shares when the investor decides to convert? From their treasury? Or do they do a stock offering then turn over the shares? Thanks

Shouldn’t the current service cost be the PV of defined benefit at retirement divided by total years of service (i.e. 10943/15) then be present valued at 7% for 14 years? The current service cost from year 1 to year to should approximate $282 this way?

Any mistakes. I thought the M2 fomula is SR*stdmarket + Rf. Not SR*stdmarket -(Rm-Rf)
@IAP_mkt2 ай бұрын
They changed it in this year's CFA curriculum. Obviously use the one you have on the 2024 CFA curriculum, so the shorter one
@IAP_mkt2 ай бұрын
I believe the formula here is now referred to as the M^2 alpha I think, but anyway use what you got in the 2024 materials and you can't go wrong
@okechukwuutazi93739 сағат бұрын
The formula is M squared Alpha(not m squared)

I have a quick question. Is the return on capital (that represent dividend received from the investment, ie. the $60 in the example at 5:18) recorded as an asset on the balance sheet? Or is it recorded as an earning on the income statement?
