@@glenmason1876 They’re definitely cool to see as they’re older and not a mercedes, and they look quite nice. They’re as capable as the LFB machines for sure, and they’ve proved that as they haven’t had to replace it just yet with the new Rosenbauers. Great machines

Ah yes, I’m not too sure what happened to that. I think it was just a temporary posting as part of a memorial for the late Station Officer Townsley, but I’m not 100%

What crew would a command unit tip out with ? Would it be firefighter and OIC

@@lastofthefallensouls1943 From what I’ve seen, the average crewing for a command unit is 3-4 people. It can consist of anything from leading firefighters to station officers.

man i thought i worked in a station w/tight clearances on the mirrors, these guys shoe horn their trucks in. My station was built in 1895 here in the USA and runs an 2015 KME out of it, we have 3" of mirror clearance to the door jamb on each side. The door jambs bear the scars of many hits.

Oh this is quite mad yeah, stations like this one, Wembley and Tooting all have the extremely old bay doors, folding the mirrors in is a necessity. It’s interesting to hear about your station too, I didn’t know of many stations in the US with low clearance. Sounds like a job and a half getting your truck in, as it’s probably bigger than what’s shown in this video. Thank you for watching!

@@TSEmergency height wise it's ok but needs consideration when we buy new ones as the street level and the station floor are at different elevations and US fire apparatus is bigger/longer thus as you back in the rear top beacons get close to the opened garage door before the rest of the truck catches up to it and the truck starts to level out. My station separates the men from the boys w/backing in, you need to nail it every single time. Another thing different by you guys is preconnected lines, you grab donut rolls and connect them. I've been to London and get the streets are narrow in some areas and clearances are tight. I look forward to returning in Dec.

Yeah they tend to happen if either a fire alarm goes off or someone reports smoke from a High Rise Building, but most of the time they need to happen on Paddington’s own ground to trigger their full house response.

@@TSEmergency yep they had a four pump job down my road, that was a derelict house on fire, and also many collisions. Had the rescue unit down there. The USAR haven’t been out for a while.

I Remember as a kid i would go and look at the fire appliances. They had four ERF fire appliances there. Then went to Dennis, and Dodge fire engines.

Oh wow, four machines. If only that was still the case today. I don’t think I can even remember a time in which they had two pumping appliances. It must have been some time before or during the 1980s. Thank you for sharing.

Yeah, it certainly meets the requirements now should a real fire occur. But it’s a pity half of it gets stood down on the way, as 99% of the time it turns out to be a false AFA actuation. Thanks for watching Glen.
