Prolly a dumb question but how do you release your prusik if your not able to stand or lift body weight of the knot? Thanks for the videos.
@Craghunter01

@@nickrogers1648 that’s actually a great question thanks for watching! When I break that prussic I’ll still have some thing under my feet to stand up with and release the tension. I also keep a hand ascender on my person if I ever need to reach up and grab something to release pressure. I’ll try to make a video showing how I do that sometime soon.

Really nice video on using a chain harrow. A big help. My ATV is belt driven, a 2014 Polaris Ranger Crew. Could I pull a 6 ft wide harrow or should I stick with a 4 ft width with the belt drive?
@Craghunter01
@Craghunter01 Ай бұрын
@@user-bp4dd1hh5d I’d think yours would pull the 6 ft easily. My atv is smaller than yours and I think it could have handled the 6 foot.

Maybe 15 mph or so? It’s pretty underpowered. I intentionally put too small of an engine on this boat. It’s a 16/48. I’m going to eventually swap this setup over to a 14 footer and replace this with a v twin engine on this boat.

Two things. When going in ñ: Make sure automatic shut off is off. Then slide into neutral with very light to literally no tap on the brake. When coming out. Wait till you feel the back tire roll up to the automated bar that is rolling you through the car wash. Be patient 😅. Then when it rolls, hit the brake HARD as you place the car back into drive!

I use my Buddy Flex to warm up our enclosed screen porch (lanai) 0:28 where the wife and I have our morning coffee on our lanai. I sometimes have trouble turning the control from pilot to heat but Ive found there’s kind of a middle position and when I find that spot, the Buddy Flex starts right up. I have the Flex attached to a tank via a hose. Heats the lanai (~250 sq ft) from 40° up to 65° in 15-20 min. Great heater!

Hi, thanks for the video. I've seen others place their Prusik below the Figure 8 or other mechanical descender. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.
@Craghunter01
@Craghunter01 5 ай бұрын
I think that’s perfectly fine. It holds the rope just the same. But I’m placing it above in this video because I’m using the prusik to climb then installing the figure 8 below. In theory the prusik is under tension as you apply the 8.

I have one I love mine I am a tree climber I use 1/2 rope on it does fine your not coming down fast but who cares I mainly use it in pine tree when am blown logs out I rappel down on the tag line lock it off put my notch in my only complaint is that it only rated for 14 idk if I would go on long repel with it and I always leave my flipline on to so it works out good for me

Thanks for this video! I have been dealing with this problem ever since I purchased my new 2024 Defender a few months ago. I read & searched the entire manual for a solution to no avail : ( Follow up question, if you do accidentally engage the "electronic brake" when shifting to neutral, how do you dis-engage it?
@Craghunter01
@Craghunter01 5 ай бұрын
The only way I’ve found to get back to neutral after engaging the electric parking brake is to either hit the gas, which disengages it, or to shift into park and restart the entire process. Thanks for watching!

What MM Delta Link is that, 10mm? I use an oval Kong quick link, but I think thinking of switching to the delta triangular. What is the benefit if any to that? Also, is the one with the capture bar useful at all?
@Craghunter01
@Craghunter01 8 ай бұрын
That is the 10mm in that video, but I typically use the 8mm. I don’t think there’s any real benefit to using the triangular myself, it’s just what I have on hand for business purposes so that’s what I use. I wouldn’t worry about switching if you’re happy with the oval link.

The capture bar you reference is designed to be used with an ascender on a harness. Not sure how it may be beneficial to a saddle hunter but I’m sure that with some creativity it could be somehow useful. Our community has designed some pretty creative secondary uses for some items so far!

Good video- I'd like to see the video of you up in the tree where you're prusik is activated in your decent, then you have to get it loose to continue you're decent. I guess you would have to re-attach your platform to get the load off the prusik so you could get it loose again. Just curious if you could get that prusik loose without a stick.

Very good there Mr. hunter. You popped up on my scream this morning. My needs are a bit different. I was using a climbing tree stand but the darn thing failed. No possibility of climbing back in and nothing to stand on. Just hanging around. This is a scenario that I have yet to see covered. So I'm hanging, my harness connected to the strap around the tree. My escape theory goes like this. ALSO connected to the tree strap carabiner is a repel rope. The figure 8 is hooked onto the harness, the attach strap on the harness is cut with a knife and down safely you come. There has to be some variation of this that will keep me from destroying the harness to get to the ground. I need smart repel guys to take a serious look at this. The climbing stand mfgs ignore this, as do 99.99% of climbing tree stand users. There is a solution out there and I continue to look for it.
