If you need to make an AC (air conditioning) service call at night, here are some guidelines and tips: ### Steps to Take for an Emergency AC Call at Night 1. **Assess the Situation:** - Determine the severity of the issue. Is the AC completely non-functional, or is it just not cooling effectively? - Check for any visible issues such as unusual noises, leaks, or error codes on the thermostat. 2. **Check Basic Troubleshooting:** - Ensure that the thermostat is set to the correct mode (cooling) and temperature. - Check if the circuit breaker has tripped. - Make sure air filters are clean and not obstructed. - Verify that vents are open and not blocked. 3. **Contacting a Professional:** - Look for 24/7 emergency HVAC service providers in your area. - Provide as much detail as possible about the issue when you call. This helps the technician prepare for the visit. 4. **Prepare for the Technician’s Visit:** - Clear the area around your HVAC unit to allow easy access. - Have your HVAC system's model and serial number ready if possible. ### Tips for Finding a Reliable 24/7 HVAC Service 1. **Search Online:** - Use search engines to find “24/7 emergency HVAC services near me.” - Check reviews and ratings on platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau. 2. **Ask for Recommendations:** - Reach out to friends, family, or neighbors who might have used emergency HVAC services before. 3. **Verify Credentials:** - Ensure that the service provider is licensed, insured, and certified. - Look for NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification or similar. 4. **Understand Costs:** - Be aware that emergency services might come with an additional fee. Ask for an estimate before the technician arrives. ### Preventative Measures - **Regular Maintenance:** - Schedule regular maintenance checks for your HVAC system to prevent unexpected breakdowns. - Replace air filters every 1-3 months depending on usage and air quality. - **Invest in a Smart Thermostat:** - Smart thermostats can alert you to potential issues before they become major problems. By following these steps, you can ensure that your AC issues are handled promptly and efficiently, even at night.

Hey I am 17 years old and I watch your videos and love the content your putting out! I always see videos on KZfaq tho and when I go to try things myself I don’t have the tools required to do so, recently I have been using a box from a tool I bought on amazon, as my tool box, I duct taped the whole thing and put the few tools I have, inside the box , I am not trying to say I’m a charity case but I definitely would consider myself a little less fortunate than you. I was wondering if maybe you would be interested in getting rid of some of your old tools and stuff you no longer use, and I can put it all to great use. I would love to inherit tools from a guy like you

@@15901111 : Not having a Pop buddy, but seriously I've seen 2 of those things go bang in the users hand. Admittedly on a 240v circuit not 110v but all the same not pretty. If you want a simple but quality & safe tester for every day use try the fluke T90, I keep one in my emergency repair kit and it's earned it's cost many times.

When you disconnect the power to a machine you will be working on, you MUST lock out that power source and tag it. Otherwise someone an turn it back on and you can be electrocuted! This is no OSHA hype! I lost a cousin because someone failed to lock out a breaker! 440 volts is not forgiving!

I've replaced the o ring on a cpl before (not all have the removable clip ring to do such a repair). It last about a year. If it's older than 10yrs I teflon it up. A lot too so the next guy will see it and avoid pumping down. I mostly just replace the valve. All depends. Good vid man. Appreciate it.
