What a great series. Finally a version that follows the book. This and the Jeff Wayne musical version are the only ones that come close to the story.

So much better than the BBC one mini series. Where this version is pretty much following the story instead of changing the story all together.

The tripod that looses a leg, I like to imagine that the martian from the previous episodes that was shot down somehow survived and got into a different tripod only to be shot down again. Just the way the 2 tripods stare down at him like "Seriously mate? Again? WTF!"

I really wish someone would make War of the Worlds Video game. You can play both Survival mode as the humans, and battle mode as the Tripods. And get to choose which model/version of Tripods to play as.

The absurdly fast mechanization of warfare, with men on horseback fighting against steel behemoths crawling over a land choked with poison gas. All that from a book written nearly twenty years prior to the great war
