This is not true that you cannot have vitamin B1 toxicity because I have it right now. Some of us who have certain genetic mutations like the MTHFR gene absorb vitamins B1 and B6 which can lead to toxicity. I have been very sick with abdominal cramps, headaches and facial flushing and just found out that I have over 20X the maximum number in my blood.

The most important function of fiber, aka cellulose, is feeding your gut microbiota, Lactobacillus and Bifidum live on cellulose and should be 80% or more of bacteria in your gut.

Humans can take larger doses of Vitamin C supplements IF they buy Time-release versions! Find 1000mg tabs or caps marked time-released. I take one each in morning & night. But 2000mg (two grams) all at once would cause me to endure explosive diarrhea! Use common sense with water-soluble vitamin supplements.

For vastly more on the B1 topic and info in my previous comment, confer the website Hormones Matter. Their life work is on sub-clincial B1 deficiency syndrome. If you have been enduring severe fatigue worsened by aging (e.g., CFS or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), then be sure to appreciate their discussion on "refeeding syndrome". It essentially means: after starving from B1 deficiency for decades, it takes significant time for the mitochondria to rework themselves and utilize (for glucose metabolism) the newly available B1 from the supplements and you may not "feel" a lot better immediately, but PUSH THROUGH and keep on-track. The 2nd biggest myth is: you might "overdose". The 1st biggest myth is: you get enough B1 in foods. God-Be with-you. ♡☆

Hey -- this was pretty good basics! Humans have B1 absorption troubles leading to sub-clinical BeriBeri (worsens with AGE). AKA: severe fatigue. ALSO: nearly all drugs + medications & more deplete human circulating B1 availability levels -- a Double-Whammy! And penetrating the BBB (blood-brain barrier) is problematic. There are at least three B1 forms: the basic salt, the fat-soluble, & the garlic-derived. I take mega-doses of all three twice daily. The second & third are: Benfotiamine & TTFD. Dirt-cheap Life-Savers. I only wish I learned this lesson when younger. If you just read this & heed it, then you just saved your life stamina quality duration! ♡♡☆☆☆☆

I stopped eating eggs and onions when I noticed they were causing me to get congestion and not to be able to hardly breathe to a severe level, so I think I have a build up of sulfur to a toxic level or my body can't metabolize it So now their is a report of symptoms of toxicity and a reason to be aware of the issue ! 😮 . I had this issue for maybe 6 years that I can remember but, it happened after eating many over easy egg sandwiches with lots of onions, like 4 eggs a day for over a year. 😢 Dang I miss eating egg sandwiches 💔😓 .
