I would tend to agree being dissimilar metals but maybe the heat prevents it because I’ve never had corrosion where I have done this. I’ve been burning for going on 20 years now. Good thought.

How much was the asphalt?
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 12 күн бұрын
The asphalt grindings were $17 a ton at the time I bought them and it was $100 for each dump truck to run. I want to say each dump truck could hold 16 or 17 ton. So that would have been about $275 per delivery.

Did some work for the boss man and got his Kawasaki bayou 220 going still needs some work but got it running after setting for 2 years. I just learned today that he has a honda Foreman he is giving me so I'll have a 4 wheeler to run the fences on and help with the farm work. It'll be my fist one ever to own or be on.

Fuel tank vent is plugged and causing vacuum in the tank will cause your sputtering issue after 20-45 min depending on the size of tank.

I smell gas when parked. It spits gas out exhaust when first starting. Following your directions when I removed the fuel hose on top of carb gas ran out of rubber hose and continues to do so unless I keep hose elevated. Is this normal? Maybe fuel pump issue? Thanks
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 Ай бұрын
If the level of gas in the gas tank is higher than the end of the hose, gas will run out. Sounds like you also have a flooding issue. I would check and make sure your float is good and your fuel shut off solenoid is working properly.

Once you get yr rebuiled cylinder back on, engine running, you want to take it easy & go back & forth with it a few times very slowly. Allowing the air to get out the way without heating up, turning into foam, burning the seals. Not that you did here, just a tip for some that wldn't know. I 've learned it the hard way :)

Yes, the big one has 5/8 re-rod stakes 2 feet long, 5 on each side, and then the back wall is lag bolted down to the asphalt. The small one is cable tied to screw anchors at all 4 corners.

I swapped the carb on my B&S 20 hp v-twin engine following your info video and I appreciate what you shared but, when I finally got it started , it runs wide open while I am trying to adjust the throttle. The throttle cable moves a silver plate under the carb but it does nothing. What can I do to fix this problem?

Sounds like you have an issue with the governor, I’d check to make sure that all of the linkages are put back on the way they came off or that you’re not missing one. I’ve done this a couple of times when I removed and installed a carb just getting in a hurry. That’s where I would look, good luck. 🍀

Where did you end up getting your sheet metal from?
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 3 ай бұрын
I got it when I bought the kit at Menards.👍 If I ever build another one I will go to a local sheet metal place and have it made in one piece. It’s cheaper and won’t have to seal where the sheets join.
@Mopargirl1980
@Mopargirl1980 3 ай бұрын
@beesprojects2692 you mentioned the harbor freight structure you bought the 21 ft panels because it was a tarp structure, you got the metal for that one also at menards?
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 3 ай бұрын
No I got the panels for the other one from a local supplier that makes it and cuts it to length. Both the two car and tarp one were from Menards. I am sure you could do this with the harbor freight model but the crossmembers are further apart of the harbor freight ones and may need more reinforcement.

Thanks for the video. I have been having issues at start up. it will start with carb. cleaner and stay running but it will only crank without it. I have fuel and spark. I am thinking it could be the auto choke?? it is a 27HP Briggs and Stratton on a Simplicity Broadmoor.
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 3 ай бұрын
I am wondering if you might have some water in the fuel. Especially if the tank is above the carb, the water will settle in the carb bowl. It could also be the auto choke like you say. Could also be a vacuum leak. Check the vacuum tube going from the valve cover to the pump for cracks. If it is cracked the fuel pump won’t work correctly. That’s a very common issue on these engines.👍
@scottwidrick1835
@scottwidrick1835 3 ай бұрын
After cleaning everything and adjusting the throttle cable, I noticed a crack in the vacuum hose from the valve cover to the fuel pump. I temporarily put electrical tape on the cracked hose and that solved the starting problem. Something simple to look for.

Hey great video. I am getting ready to make an enclosure for my air compressor and I am not sure what sort of hose is best to use for these drain valves. Everyone seems to make stainless braided hose kits but i'm not sure why the standard air hose or even nylon hose isn't suitable for this. Also I was wondering if I could use an air hose quick connet coupler to extend my drain hose so that I could quickly disconnect it from the box whenever I wanted to take it somewhere.
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 3 ай бұрын
I think you’ll be fine with standard nylon hose as long as it will hold up to the heat. That’s the problem I had so I used copper tubing coming directly off of the main line to my pressure switch to help dissipate the heat before teeing in to it with the nylon. That worked very well and I haven’t had an issue with it. I’m sure you could also use a quick connect in it also without much trouble.👍

I highly recommend you hydro-statically test that tank. It's an easy DIY if you have a pressure washer, but I'd never put an unknown tank that's known to have significant rust inside at head height.
@beesprojects2692
@beesprojects2692 3 ай бұрын
I’ll probably build an addition and move it to its own exterior room but this tank is like 1/4 inch thick. It’s not a thin wall cheap one like the new ones that explode. The likely thing that would happen is the tank would start leaking air, it also doesn’t ramp up to 150+ psi like the new ones do either. I’ve seen the videos of air compressor’s exploding and I feel the likely hood of that is slim to none. However, I will probably be moving it to the addition I build to use this space a little differently in the future, and maybe because of all of the concern over this tank, I will build it with ballistic material that can withstand an 80 gallon grenade.👍
@scottkolaya2110
@scottkolaya2110 3 ай бұрын
@beesprojects2692 or you could simply test it and eliminate the concern. I don't know, but that sounds easier. I'm going to test mine this summer. I live where it significantly freezes, so putting it outside isn't a real option.

Unfortunately I don’t have a video about that. I want to say I had a little bit of a time getting mine out though. It’s in such a bad spot. I made some solid wooden ramps that I use to back the forklift up on to so that it gives me more room to work underneath it.
