I would also like to point out that despite being in the south, Lubbock does not have any black people, Latinos, Asians, or any other type of people there. As Mr. Baxter made a point of showing, it's only white people.

Some other areas worth mentioning in Lubbock are Vintage Township, Brooke Heights, Orchard Park, Oakmont, Kelsey Park, Hatton Place, Stratford Point, Preston Manor (in Wolfforth, a suburb of Lubbock), Escondido Ranch, Sedona (near Red Feather Golf Course), Melonie Park. Thanks for the video!

Lived here all my life and would not live anywhere else. I have visited lots of places much larger than Lubbock and while they may have more to do in those larger areas, the people are just no where near as friendly. I hate the traffic in larger cities and Lubbock traffic is not bad at all. Every place has bad drivers so you will always run into that. If you are single and young, not going to college, I hear it is not great but, I don't think the city advertises itself for that demographic really. If you attend college, I have heard it is great and It is great for young/older families. The cost of living is just about unbeatable. It is really dry and the dirt blows from time to time but, usually only from late fall to late winter and if is rare we have full on dust storms. Summers are not windy though, and are hot/dry. Luckily we have gotten quite a bit of rain this year. Plenty of restaurants, places to see a movie, play golf, take kids to for a family day. If you are into the outdoor life, Palo Duro is about 80 miles or so north and the mountains are just a few hours away to the west. Not a bad place to live at all.

I was born here, went to college here, moved back here about 10 years ago. I like it. The traffic is easy to deal with compared to Dallas, it has every thing you need. I like the fact that it's a conservative town. What bothers me the most is the stray animal population.

Andrew, another excellent video and especially pertinent to our price range. Which school district Cooper or Frenship has LOWER property tax % currently? We have no kids, so we could care less about school quality. The deciding factor will be property tax rate

I moved to Lubbock in 2001 with the firm plan of leaving in 3 years after I finished grad school. Still here in 2024. Met my husband building a Habitat for Humanity house in 2004 and at that point Lubbock became home. Love my house (paid for now), which would be twice its price in Dallas - even at 30 miles away from downtown in Frisco. Love my neighborhood: families, professionals, retirees - nice mix. Neighbors speak to each other and wave. Will not see that in 75205. Love the fact that I live in the southwest side of the city and I can be at the airport, 20 miles away, in 20 minutes. Dallas for lunch with friends (1 hour flight) - no problem. Glad I am here.

For the Falls area, what you were describing is only south of 110th, and a very small area in the Falls. Big million $$$ homes, but small area in comparison. North of 110th has some very very nice houses that are very good if you are looking at $400K homes. Still expensive but very nice without breaking the bank. That area you were describing should be broken out into a class of its own.

How do these people say it’s not dangerous? I’ve lived here all my life and am 25 and got my house robbed my dog beat, I got robbed at gun point, and I’ve been shot at and almost lost my life and ended up with 2 bullet holes in my car all because I sold something on fb marketplace and they gave me $200 in fake money and I called then out on it and like 10 Mexicans ran up on me and while I was driving off they shot at me. I was completely unarmed and made no threats to them I just wanted my money. And when my house got robbed and they took everything and they beat my dog LPD took 2 and a half hours to get to my house when the police station is less than 10 minutes away.
