Proud owner of a ICOM 2730A i have put the main unit under my front seat and remote head affixed into an $9 mobile phone holster using velcro strips and stuck onto dashboard using holster suction cup and the lead between main unit/remote head stuck down using gorilla tape I've got antenna on drivers side of the bonnet even on low power it can hit local repeater clearly, there is a work around in terms of hooking up power leads to battery I rigged up 2 extension power leads and connected them using crimp pieces then fed thinner wires through fire wall using a piece of stainless steel wire before crimping terminal connectors up and connecting it up to the battery

Only issue to address is cover the burner with a ziplock! Water intrusion in the lower tubing can cause particles of food, rust or fat to enter the burner gas ports. Thus causing blockage or corrosion in the gas plentium. AND if water is forced in, and you are in freeze zones and just let it air dry only, water pooled in lower burner head can crack the gas line. Always fire er up!! Great video!!

great video. It doesn't make sense that he was targeting you when your detector came on becasue you were already so close and had slowed down. So he must have been aiming at the person behind you and it triggered your detector. I guess there is a small chance that a pure LIDAR detector could give your some headsup if highway patrol targeted a car ahead of you.

If you are use more batteries in a device, they will not discharge in the same way, depending on the resistance of the battery, the capacitance, and type of connection (serial or parallel). Then it should be preferable to discharge all the batteries before a new charge, otherwise you will face battery memory effect, that should not permit you to USA all the power of the batteries.

Actually, it's TopRace not Top Flight. Probably going to use this method next time I have to put an antenna up after spending an afternoon in the hot sun Sunday with a slingshot. I have a similar unit in my cart at Amazon right now. I too chose one with velcro strap to make it more universal than those available for a specific model of drone. Good video and good idea with the reel, I've used that method with slingshot before.

Video is a year old, guessing you’ve learned a little. There are apps for Both the detectors. If the V1 is noisy, on K, you haven’t set it up the app right. The Uniden needs time to do lockouts unless you manually lock out.

Wish I could hit a repeater from home. I can listen on a radio very similar to the one you showed but even a 25w mobile wont hit any of the repeaters in my area. What I get for living just on the edge of civilization I suppose.
