Im wondering if Joes dad was Babba Gomez that that lived in Newlands and raced pigeons in the Aasvoeel kop klub in the 1960/70's? I often visited Babba as a youngster when i started racing pigeons with mostly putteries from Chris Neethling.😅

Issue all rings by 1st of January all over South Africa. The youngsters can then be bred earlier and they will be more mature in the racing season. Also wise fanciers will cut the flights by the 10th of January each year. Then the flights wont be a problem when you start training in April. Ybd hits all babies no matter when you start training.! Makes no sense to start racing later. Makes more sense to start only the young bird races later if you think it will make a difference. Old birds can be raced by the 15th of May already. Very many fanciers in the cape race with hand clocks. They just cannot afford electronic clocks and expensive electronic rings. Be very careful not the think all people that race pigeons are wealthy or are well off. Also know you need all kinds of fanciers to be able to race pigeons. You cannot race against yourself.

The New TPA in Pretoria, gives allot of new options. Now we can specialise in only one area, short, middle or long… with options for 5 or 10 or 15 or 20 pigeons. So many options. 49 members to start with… They are pioneering what you guys are talking about. Hopefully other clubs and areas will follow.

The fundemental challenge is the challenge to keep people in the sport first . That needs to be first priority . Our system and how we race are fundementally flawed in the favor of the bigger lofts and location .One of the biggest mistakes is the issue of stright line velocity and not importing all the other mathematical foormulas that governs it,Formulas like best of levels , Non Ace Birds competitions ,Best of levels etc , these mathematical formulas are all aimed to neutrlise the location and weather factors .The only organization that made and attempt to introduce some of these concepts , is the Fbhu , which clearly has resulted in greater distribuition of prizers and across 70km raduis. Futhermore , the issue of racers below 400km and midpoint beyond which these racers will make no sense at all . And these racers are motivational killers , if u cannot race them in 5km raduis mathematical formulas like best of levels etc has to be introduced . The other major issues , is the fact that definitions of clubs , federations , unions are completely distorted , today we have union , feds less than 25 members and those results are marketed as wins , to the disadvantage of performing fanciers in uniions feds of 50 or more members .The maths of pigeon sport is far more complexed than just caclautions of velocity . We hould also move away from fancier centric prizers to pigeon centric prizers , as we have and enormous opportunity to market the South African pigeon .I visted 34 pigeon racing countries in the world , 42 times to Belguim and we fail ourslves the inherint lack of believe in our pigeons and also lack full understanding of the mathematics that governs pigeon sport . We also fail ourserlves , for shear lack of diversity in our sport and harnessing that diversity for benefit of the sport . Cape Town has a very unique cultural affinity to pigeon sport , there are more pigeon owners in Cape Town , but acess to race there pigeons is barrier . In summary , how we define , structure , compete etc needs a total rerview .

The sound has to much echo/reverb it sounds muffled. You need to add some soft material in the room. To many hard surfaces in the room. I like the content but the sound is such a turn off. Please accept my comment as feedback

Super loft to race in, following the best practice for OLR racing,no touching of pigeons during basketing! Top management, CPL is the best loft for new comers to OLR racing! My opinion!
