I watch All in the family reruns every day. Its comforting to me. Reminds me of my childhood...my parents, a simpler time. First time i heard the words to this song. It breaks my heart as im separated from my husband of 32 years...heading towards divorce😢

Haha! Its another Chrysler abomination. The government made a huge mistake by bailing them out.

In later years we learned that Corinthian leather was merely an ad slogan. No such thing as Corinthian leather. But who cares? He made it believable, and it really was a very nice upholstery.

I always liked this All in The Family closing theme but was even more impressed that Carroll O'Connor wrote the lyrics to them. In fact I remember the first time I saw this Sonny And Cher Comedy Hour segment as an 8 year-old living in Meyersville, NJ at the time. RIP to both Carroll O'Connor for playing Archie Bunker and to Norman Lear for creating All In The Family, Maude, Sanford And Son, Good Times and The Jeffersons. [Mike Stivic: All in The Family was recorded on tape in front of a live audience. Archie Bunker:Aw, dummy-up Meathead!]

This was the life. If you had HBO back then and a Betamax to record the movies while you were sleep to watch later. Because a lot of the really good movies came on late night.

Whatever his motivation, it was a brilliantly astute business move by O’Connor writing words to this song. Because as the co-writer/lyricist of record, he (or his estate) gets paid every time the show airs to this day.

In a month from now, I'll be 20 and I can still recognize a lot of the stars, sadly not all of them, but a lot. I would tell you who I do know, but it would be a long list and I'm not gonna bother with it. I just cannot believe that I was NOT around when this kind of TV was around.
