Hey! BASSBOSS advertised 3000 RMS a year ago when we bought and now they deleted those specs and listed it as 3000 TOTAL power!! They lied a year ago!!!! Do you have a screen shot or print out of their specs from the time of your video???
@FinestEventss7 ай бұрын
I do not have the specs. The DV12 in this video was the MK1. I think the power actually went up slightly on MK3. I thought it was 3000 RMS on the powersoft amplified models.
@ekatp71487 ай бұрын
@@FinestEventssyes that’s what they advertised a year ago 3000 RMS but now they took that down and selling as 3000 total power, which would make it only 1500 RMS. Why would anyone pay over 3K for 1500 RMS?!
@FinestEventss7 ай бұрын
@@ekatp7148 interesting..... I'll have to look into that. The prices have went through the roof. Hard to justify at this point.
@ekatp71487 ай бұрын
@@FinestEventssfor sure!!! It’s hard for me to justify my purchase of the pair of MKII last year if the RMS is only 1500 not 3000 like they advertised it to be. Pissed really!!! 🤬

Rcf for the win. It’s amazing that It gave you a consistent volume overall in frequencies 300hz and up at 25ft which will be your average distance of people during a show for dancing. which is exactly what you need to when using a separate woofer. That meAns the rcf will actually sound louder and more clear throughout the whole gig vs the bass boss with inconsistent frequency volumes at those frequencies. Although you may feel the bass boss sounds better with the bass. The bass is an easy fix especially when using an external woofer. I just don’t see the worth of almost double the price for a bass boss when it’s missing almost all of the frequencies you need using a full range system🤷🏾♂️ especially for a 1-3 db difference since the human ear will find it hard to differentiate that sound in real time.
@FinestEventss8 ай бұрын
They were very close overall. The RCF sounded louder to my ears but it is much more harsh at high volume. I think that perception of louder to my ear was the HF boost that RCF seems to have even when playing flat. The Bassboss is much easier on the ear even at high spl. They are both great speakers. If you want overall loudness, the RCF wins. If you want a better sound, the Bassboss was the winner. These are just my own opinions from being able to compare. For the difference in cost, I agree it is hard to justify.
@JoeWinsome8 ай бұрын
@@FinestEventss i think you’re absolutely right on the rcf sounding louder maybe and even harsher but it’s probably due to the fact that it doesn’t need to be soo loud to project those mid to high frequencies. It only makes sense. But it was probably meant to shine with an external woofer instead of a stand alone which is my thought, when using a full range system the rfc will sound better and fill in the gaps much cleaner than the bass boss. Thanks for this man. I’ve always wondered how these compared.

@@FinestEventss Which one would say has better sound quality (separation, clarity, accuracy and tonal richness?) I am looking to buy new tops, and would greatly appreciate your input
@FinestEventss9 ай бұрын
@@jack3400 I personally prefer the sound of the DV12 and is what I kept and currently still own (MK2). Since this review Bassboss has come out with MK2 and now MK3 versions. They have improved every version. I have been told but haven't heard the MK3 is even better. They are two completely different sounds. IMO the DV12 at high volume remains smooth and not harsh. It seems to my ears that the TT has a louder high end but at the sacrifice of sound quality. They hurt my ears at high volume and tend to have a boost in high frequencies as shown by my testing. I would give the Bassboss DV12 MK2 or MK3 a good look. I have heard good about the HDM45a too, but it has a similar syle horn to the TT and I have never heard them to confirm. Good luck in your search as sound is so subjective.

Bassboss is an overpriced joke. Looks like shit, no network, inferior DSP options, way less SPL and no handles, seriously? RCF all day any day. This argument "But... but... bassboss is all about the low end!" sounds retarded to me, because if you shell out 3 grand per speaker you will sure as hell have subs and with subs bassboss is not even in the same league as RCF TT series.

Hello nice video. So would you say it’s worth getting the bass boss over the RCF? For loud and clean. Also how many amp does it needs to plug on a breaker? Thank you.
@FinestEventss Жыл бұрын
They are both great speakers, I don't think you would be disappointed with either. I think you should decide on which type of dispersion you prefer? The RCF is narrow and the Bassboss is 120 degrees. They both get loud and are clean. I personally use the DV12 MK2 now and I cannot say how many you can put on a breaker. They are very efficient and pulled less power than my Evox 8's when I measured them on my amp meter. They also can be crossed over at 4 preset points. The more low end you take out the more you can run (This is when you run with subs). Hope that helps.

I pulled those specs from their site at the time of this review. Not sure why the discrepancy now but when I just rechecked, you are correct. A little over 57.
