Sun, fun, only one digger, can't soil the camera buttons. Onyas, Darren & Michelle. We liked the 1921M 3D... zoomed to see if there's the mintmark, and one year from their overdate 1922-on-1921. Sure, big silvers are the go, but tiny thrip, big price, is also nice. Either will do, picture joyful leaping duo, a 1938 Crown, or 22/21 overdate 3D in beautiful condition, worth tens of thousands. $5500 in barely readable condition! (Once mike arrives, of course, it'll be still as, you'll have to bring your own sound fx Mistral.)
@Working925detecting8 күн бұрын
G'day Gabi, I check all my coins before I clean them just in case I'm lucky enough to find one that's actually worth something, fingers crossed 🤞 the mic has arrived now so hopefully the quality gets better now. Thanks for watching.

😂😂😂 Actually I think I laughed a few more times than that, I half expected to see this hunt turn into world championship wrestling, With the detector off to the side twiddling it's own buttons. Not much wind noise, it was ok! I was wondering what was going on, when the detector started slowly disappearing off screen, then I remembered who was filming! The Penny's looked in great condition, And I haven't found a silver I didn't like, So I'll take a hunt like that any time. Fortunately I dont have to fight anyone for my detector, which is good, if I did, I'd probably never get to use it! Thanks for the fun! Cheers!

If I don't keep one hand on it when she's around it seems to slowly slide away from me 😅 good fun when we get out together but she has a knack of pinching it and finding the good stuff haha. I may be wrong, but I reckon you were pretty happy with that Florin, I'd been hunting a permission , with weeks of coppers and relics, but kept thinking there's got to be a silver somewhere, Then out popped a Florin, with a loudly exclaimed "Helaluya" and singing my version of "happy days are here again" I spent the rest of the afternoon smiling. They do gave a tendency to brighten the day. Sticking to it on a wet and miserable day, you deserved it! Id be happy with the thrip too. Good on you Darren, Cheers Mate!

Thanks for watching wayne. Oh I was happy alright, they certainly can turn a day around. love seeing them coming out of the ground. I was also a bit gobsmacked that I called it before I dug it, in hope that it was a florin, I was expecting it to be another brown bugger and just said that for a laugh when I was wrong. Anyway I'll take it 😃

Indeed, how the mood swings with silvers, Darren! Let it rain, hail, if they're silver! The 1915L 3D is one of the rarer thrips, 800k minted, $45 in VG, the lowest grade. On our Nox we run iron bias at 2 mostly, use horseshoe just to read the area, but find there's not much jumpy numbers even if there's junk, like a '53 florin clear as a bell, unmoving at 28, despite a giant rusty nail sitting on it. But I was hoping for gold-rush village 1853, upper Narre Warren East, which is north of Narre Warren North! I love the irony. Other times you think the ground is covered in rusty sheet iron and the grass grown over, people seemed very enthusiastic about dumping their rubbish in the nearest native vegetation to their home, since settlement. If the rubbish is old enough, Hermitage Victoria wanna look after it, if the bush is now full of new rubbish, Enviro-rent Victoria wanna zone it for development. Ordinary people get in their way. Farmers, detectorists, bushwalkers, campers. Sorry, Governor! (Who's law is it anyway?😅) Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren.
@Working925detecting12 күн бұрын
Hey Gabi, I usually run a low iron bias of 1 it does help identify targets next to rusty iron as you say, if I'm digging too many rusty nails etc I'll switch it up to 2. Running a high recovery speed also helps with a quick response to targets next to rust also. Unfortunately the laws can be in a grey area when it comes to old locations, just gotta hope we don't step on any toes. Thanks for your input Gabi.

Haha yeah mate she has a habbit of pinching it while I'm busy and usually finds good signals for me to dig for her. I said I'll get one for her but she said "oh I don't dig though" so unless I hire someone to dig holes for her I don't think she'll be getting one 😂

Not the preferred year on the Florin, but im always happy to see one pop out, I don't know if they still exist any more, but I think the petrol company, Ampol, had the Pegasus as there emblem, probably nothing to do with your find but it popped into my mind first up! Ive detected at an x football field, now a pop in free camp area in my town, I probably spent as much time talking to the curious as I did detecting, And it doesn't hurt to have a yarn with them, they just might offer you a permission, no guarantee though. Having a yap with a stranger, though he was a local who knew everyone and had lived there all his life gave me my first permission. It changed my whole hunting experience. Keep your vid's coming! Cheers Mate!
@Working925detecting14 күн бұрын
Having a pretty good run this year on the florins and silver myself but I'm detecting in heavily populated areas compared to you I'm sure so that's gotta work in my favour. Yeah I'll have a yarn to anyone who is interested in what I'm doing when they approach me. No permissions as yet but an older lady once told me of a location just near where I was hunting once so I checked it out quickly and scored a little sixpence straight away then had to leave. But 100% in what your saying.

Excellent long weekend away, Darren and friends! Those George III's are sensational, face like a dropped pie, can't get over their age, nor why no newer currency until more arrived, early 1830s. Nuts. That padlock shaped carved and chased silver, the insert would be a semi-precious hardstone, the Scottish love them, an agate probably. Just missing the swing loop catch, probably for a fob watch chain, heavy item, could take out the stone to clean and have a catch made, both best done by a jeweller. Being big and silver, by law, going way back, it would have hallmarks on it somewhere, oddly, gold items by law didn't need hallmarking. If you don't mind me saying, you and the two Lukes regularly seem to fluke some excellent finds, so keep 'em coming, these detectors with numbers haven't been around all that long, where folk were long ago hasn't been gone over with the nous you lot show, or on where to look, nor how to detect as well as we've seen being done by yourself and the Lukes. Best of luck with the locations and finds! 🤞½sov, yet to see a KZfaq detectorist find any halves, apparently rarer and more valuable. Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren.
@Working925detecting14 күн бұрын
Looking at that silver item again I think your spot on, thanks for the information. Technology has certainly come a long way with detectors now especially with discrimination advances. The target identification numbers certainly do help with guessing what's in the ground but like I've said before, you never really know 100% what your digging until you've dug it up. A sov or 1/2 sov would be amazing for sure, ill try my best to get it on film should I ever be so lucky haha. Thanks for the support Gabi 🙏
