Wow, this was a fascinating topic. It definitely gives some context to the one West African scholar who was enslaved and forced into Christianity in America. His writings in Arabic show that he was educated and that he retained his Islam despite not being able to openly admit that.

Interesting lecture but I wonder how the professor would square his idea that the prophet Muhammad went around the near east, had contact with other cultures and religions and that he knew other languages with the fact that the Quran and hadith for that matter are all in Arabic and in a very hijazi style.

Yasir Qadhi is not a scholar, greater learned Muslim men exist than him, he is a student of knowledge at best with many mistakes. He changed his stance “after” he attended Yale, seem odd?
