My robot build (example of telemetry is my profile pic, that's me being skeleton tracked) runs on a Pride Mobility Quantum 600E power chair. I don't know anything about the different power chairs, this is one I picked up for $400 and it just needed batteries so bargain and let's build. Anyway, I drive it with a Dimension Engineering Sabertooth 2X60 (2 motors * 60A each, 120A peak) motor controller and I have owned this motor controller for almost 10 years, it has neve given me any trouble. The total weight of the robot is whatever the Quantum 600E with batteries would weigh, I used the seat minus the upholstery so that weight is there, plus about 40 pounds of other gear and the Sabertooth never complains. It looks almost just like yours and seems to offer the same features. Plus it is designed for robot applications so it can be controlled with analog controls like a potentiometer, RC controls, Serial TTL (such as from an Arduino) and there are other things like the Kangaroo by Dimension Engineering to tune throttle curves. I am about to install an Ardurover controller in mine to control it remotely from a computer using GPS and compass (3D Robotics sells a kit, at least they used to as of 8 years ago or so and I'm just trying to repurpose old gear I had lying around. I really dig your channel, your approach and knowledge on the subject matter is the easiest to follow and most comprehensive I know of on the internet. If you decide to build more RC type or robot type applications and if you're a little light on the Arduino coding experience, you can find me on the Arduino community forum as Hallowed31 and I and a host of other great volunteer helpers there would be happy to share some tips, code or revisions to your code, plus general electronics expertise. There are some real gurus in electronics there.

Is insurance reasons why you didn't get an F5? For the tie-down loops the back all they would have to do is make it a little bit longer.

Just to note.... I have a Quantum 2.0 with Fender Lights. They had to be unplugged and unhooked because it was causing me issues and was doing kind of the same thing you were having with this Chair. My Insurance Company is getting me a new Quantum 3 Edge with Upgraded Light System with Lights on my Seat so I will let you know if it works ok....

Hello dear,I have a Permobil C 300 make year 2020 electric wheelchair.The module control number is 50679.07 and the batteries of the wheelchair were jelly and it was dead and did not work. I replaced the batteries and put a lithium battery and it worked fine. After I let the batteries charge, after a few minutes I saw the joystick lights. It turns on and off and the wheelchair does not work. After checking with another joystick, I found out that it is from the module control. I wanted to ask if this problem has arisen because the batteries are not hot or if the problem is from somewhere else. Sorry for my poor English. Thank you very much for the useful videos you post on KZfaq.

I am helping out on a Quickie Q300M mini power wheelchair. It goes very slowly, batteries and motor are good. I assume there is some internal setting that is limiting the speed. Is there a way to adjust the max speed, either through a secret menu or via external programming? Thanks for any suggestions.

It's great to see you're finally moving into an apartment. I remember when I moved into my current apartment 2,5 years ago, I bought all new furniture. I ordered a bed and mattress from IKEA. When the delivery guys delivered the stuff, I started arguing with them. I told them the mattress was missing. It's been years since I bought a mattress. All I saw was the tiny rolled up thing. I thought it was the mattress top. But yeah, it was the mattress. Rolled into a thin thing. I remembered that when I heard the sounds when you unrolled yours 😂 good times.

Hey dude, Question here. Getting older as a C5/6 complete Quad here and getting more thin skinned on butt. And more prone than before to pressure sores ( 36 years now as quad. Need a chair with better suspension and or bigger tires and RWD. My old electric invacare storm GB arrow with tilt was always a harder ride. Would you suggest this Amy chair or a Bounder with the floatation rear tires ? You have both. Which one rides better outside and easier on the ruff streets and sidewalks etc.
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 5 күн бұрын
amy and bounder are good options - amylior is RWD but handles a bit easier indoors since the rear wheels arent at the very back of the chair. bounder is also another great option - but theyre HEAVY chairs - designed for HEAVY USE and not always for everyone - its best to get into a demo chair before ya make a final decision :^)

i used to wear my positioning belt all the time BUT when i finally got a chair that fit me correctly, i never really used one after that. IMO if it feels like you're gonna fall out of the chair, it needs to be adjusted! but if ya have limited/no core function, a belt is probably a good idea - or even a chest harness - got a couple friends that use those :^)

You need to bring your medical record, most none disabled don't understand your situation of not able balance, since your legs look heath and strong as normal, their is many bad people fake disabled/injury and cause overload service. As polio with small leg, but wear big pant, I'm always shift up haft of my leg to show them my brace and my small feet, some of them very happy because make their job easier and tell me that many people don't open like me and even feel "disrespect", because this help their job for security (our body have mental and provide right service (situation look none disabled like you). (Note: There is people don't really care security/overload job of others, they feel eye dirty when look at our ugly leg/brace). Hope this help.

Hey Dan. Really enjoy your videos. I’m currently suffering from paralysis mid-sternum down which was caused by Guillane Barre Syndrome. Before the GBS I was dealing with injuries from my time in the Army as a paratrooper. I left the army and had a compromised immune system became a type 1 diabetic. Eventually I had a severe heart attack that left me on 4ltrs of oxygen 24/7. I to am on a BIPAP which is an absolute if I want to breathe lying down. Right now I’m concentrating on being able to stand so I am transition to the bed, wheelchair and toilet. I’m currently in a nursing home/rehab. I was hospitalized Feb 12th and spent 5 weeks in ICU. another 2 months in critical care. Then released to the facility I’m currently in. I have severe chronic pain issues due to severe injuries I received in combat that are exponentially worse and complicated by the GBS. I get put in a wheelchair at least 3Xs a week via Hoyer lift for therapy. I’m unable to shell my self in a conventional chair and it’s so uncomfortable that I m given a larger dose of OxyContin just to endure my chair time for therapy. Your story means a great deal to me Dan. It makes a difference being able to talk to someone. Thanks so much for sharing your story. It doesn’t come across as complaining to me at all. People that live with severe chronic disabilities under for an Amylior Hd chair. I’m really excited about getting the new chair with all the extras.

For me, on wheelchairs, quality of after the sale service, and factory support makes or breaks the experience. I've changed makes of wheelchair due to the latter. (Quickie to TiLite in manual as an example). TiLite was bought out by Permobil, my present DME and Permobil service and support has been excellent. I am about to begin power chair life again since college, and am in the process of getting a Permobil M-VS power chair, which will be my third power chair I've owned. First two in college were Quickies (A P-300 and S-626).

I totally agree, I am in California and I complain to cities and counties quite often about following ADA guidelines.Apparently it recommended Federal guidelines, not actual ADA law. I complained once in a large county about two or three missing curb cuts to get to a local jr college. I met with the person in charge of streets and parks, and within two months, I successfuly had six curb cuts newly installed, and the county installed an additional 80 more crosswalk curb cuts installed in twoi more adjacent neighborhoods. More people need to complain about these types of things in order to have changes happen'

those gray upright chargers are my favorite stock chargers! in theory putting the volt pro charger in 8 amp mode should emulated that gray charger. DO NOT use it in the 10 amp (higher voltage) mode with MK batteries though! im in the process of testing the voltage curves of the 8 amp mode right now.. should have results in a week or so!

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! My joystick got caught under a kitchen drawer handle and tightly lodged there. I couldn't move and I was alone very late at night. I ended up calling 911 because of course I couldn't reach to put the chair in neutral and also, as luck would have it, the power center Mount footrest was raised. The EMTs finally figured out how to put the chair in neutral and brought me to the bedroom and transferred me to my bed so all is well. I have the most expensive R-net controller because I have the permobil light package. Until I saw this video, I was looking down the barrel of a very expensive replacement. Ironically I am in the process of getting a new chair but this was to be my second chair precisely to fly with and take to la Republica Dominicana to work among the poor and hopefullychange attitudes about disabilities caregiving and caregivers. My questions: If both the headphones and the magnet will work, is the magnet better because you don't have to go to the underside of the joystick? It seems like that would be very difficult to do if your hands aren't well coordinated and you're sitting in the chair. Will the magnet solution work long-term and does it seem to be more targeted and less likely to change the mode if the magnet is more powerful?
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 12 күн бұрын
ahh good times! lol nothing like calling emergency services when trapped by a drawer! :^) yea the magnet is probably easier - it wont hurt anything to use long term.. the little rare-earth magnet sticks for the old style wheelchair van door openers are perfect! but a small neodymium magnet is all ya need. just play around with spot ya wave it past and should work reliably for turning on/off OR changing modes
